How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

I put down a $500 deposit on a 2021 Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab SR5 (longbox) on January 4, 2021. I received confirmation today (February 9, 2021) that the truck has been ordered and it should be here in Ontario, Canada in early April. (no build date was given) For me, this is perfect because I didn't want to purchase one until the spring but knowing the wait time (thanks in part to this wonderful thread) I knew that a January or February order was necessary.

 

Got a call yesterday from the dealer. My truck was built on Friday and will be here in the next couple weeks. They are going to call me back when they know the exact date. Order date was 12/14.

 

Picked her up today. “Ordered” 10/25

 

I wonder if it’s the same wait times for a Tundra.

 

I'm still waiting and its now February 2021. I keep getting no information from the dealer. This is absolutely ridiculous. I call them several times and they say they are "looking into it," and "we will call you back" but they never call me back. Sounds like I'm getting the ring a round, seems like I have to personally show up to their front desk. Probably going to demand my deposit back because these guys don't know what they are doing. Eastway Toyota by the way.

 

They don’t have one coming in their allocation or they could have tweaked it with the color you wanted, provided the build date and a VIN shortly thereafter. I can understand that you want to stay with it because of all of the time you have invested, but it is not going to happen. If you can, start from scratch with a dealer that already has the basic configuration that you want scheduled to be built as part of its allocation.

 

Ordered 10/28, dealer has no news other than "delayed by weather". They have several cars in their inventory marked as "in transit".

Still waiting...

 

Do you have a permanent vin yet?

It was about a month once I got mine.

 

Yes, I got a vspec sheet couple weeks ago which has a VIN. Google finds it in their inventory and in transit.

 

Offically put my deposit down today. The clock begins. Though my dealer isn't even sure they will be able to get the truck I want. Lunar Rock Pro 6MT.

I'm not in a huge rush though I need to replace my current vehicle relatively soon.

Hopefully I can land one in the coming months. If not... I'll just see what MY22 brings and try again.

 

Truck was built on Friday, arrived at the dealer the following Wednesday (yesterday) and I am currently sitting at the dealer waiting to finish the paperwork to take it home.

 

- 1/7/2021 Ordered and placed deposit at dealership.
- 1/26/2021 Notified by dealership that my order has been allocated to their stock, VIN and spec ship emailed to me
- 2/12/2021 Notified that my truck had been build and is awaiting arrangement for transport (estimated 3/14 - 3/20)

Seems like I got lucky and placed my order at the right time

 

Put my deposit down on 2/11. Was told 3-4 months for a TRD OR DCSB in army green

 

Ordered mine 12/15. Dealership got allocation on 2/4. Still waiting on build date and VIN

 

13 Feb 2021 Deposit down. TRD OR DCLB Army Green. 12-14 weeks out. The waiting begins.

 

Just thought I’d chime in... I placed my deposit down on Dec.13 for a SSM DCSB TRD OR premium. I found out last month the estimated delivery date is Feb.20-25.

 

How are you guys getting such detailed info? Some guy even knew the ship his was coming over on!

I know my pro was built in Guanajuato Mexico last week or the week before, but that’s all the info I can get.

 

Long time lurker, first time poster...

Ordered/placed deposit an Offroad Double Cab, MT, in VooDoo blue on 2/19. Dealer said it was rolling off the assembly line 3/17 and would likely arrive by 4/17. I have the spec sheet and VIN. This is in Colorado Springs.

 

That sounds like its gonna be a nice truck, it is worth waiting for!

 

I hope so! Gotta have a manual and I like the blue.
