    Sun damage is why I'd never mount the boards up there. I once had Yellow D-rings on my bumpers that are now a very unappealing shade of off-white.

    why would I be worried about something that’s just there for looks, which I’ll never use? :)

    haha jk. Mine are mounted against my front bed rail and I usually have a tent on my rack so I figure that provides it enough shade to not be concerned. They’re locked up as well so not too concerned about theft though it’s always in the back of my mind.

    Mine are mounted on the side of my rack and I have a bike lock around then. Going camping basically once a week I like to always have them on there.

    That pic was when they were first mounted haha. But when I get home, everything gets cleaned the next day. I’m kinda ocd.

    My traction boards are ALMOST always mounted....and I ALMOST had to use them the other weekend. @mynameismudflap can back me up on this hah.

    I bolted them in to keep honest people honest. figure if im stuck. i have time to get my wrench out

    I've found that the threaded anti rattle hitch locks work pretty well for the traction boards. Two holes secured with wing nuts and a third with the lock.

SOLD - 2002: TRD PreRunner with a DERP sticker, some desert stripes, couple of rock scrapes, E-locker, OME front & rear w/Dakar leafs, and CURT front/rear hitches.
    I've carried a set of two, ever since I bought them about 4yrs ago. They came in VERY handy on my old '02 PreRunner, but haven't had much use in my '03 4WD. Mine don't look brand new at all.
    Here's some photos of when I got to use them 3x in the same 40', from my old PreRunner days...

    I am glad that there are many people that actually use them but there are many people in my area that just have them there for looks I've actually had people say that when I've asked them have you ever taken your truck off road? and they said heavens no....:annoyed::duh::facepalm:
