Turned on a lathe by my grandfather. Was in his BMW, then in my father's BMW, then it was in my VW for 10 years and now it's in the Taco.

I totally get your sentiment and would agree 99% of the time. Yet, I just ordered a TetonWorkshop knob because I use the shifter ALL the time when off-roading. When going up and down mountains I'm constantly having to change the top gear of the truck in 4 low. Do I need a new knob? Absolutely not. But I want something other than plastic and vinyl to hold on to for hours.

Too much to name for this little space
I wanted to keep an OEM look but the old one was wearing out a little bit

My knob is a WC Lathe Werks Ø2.00" stainless steel sphere from my old STi. It works well in the Tacoma, but it's a little small. I removed the chrome boot collar and used bailing wire to hold the boot to the shaft.

I had the Hurst T handle in my 70 Camaro long ago. On hot days shifting was a pita. It was a 4-speed so there wasn’t a lot of choice.

Has anyone seen or tried these vintage knobs from Etsy by Knobs For All? It seems like the seller has some with a tip on the end for the Gen 2 and some without the tip. The seller notes the ones with the tips don't work with boots but doesn't note or show the others without the tip possibly for Gen 3. I hate to assume though. I also contacted the seller but was hoping to see if anyone has already gotten one of these and could post a picture. They look super rad and are a nice shape.

I really dig this one. The weird ridge in the stock MT knob bugs me.

What is it/where did you get it? Boot integration looks super clean too.
