My base 2.7L 5speed manual Taco will be reaching 30,000 miles soon. I have read quite a lot on the maintenance and couldn't find a definitive answer as to at what mileage to change the transmission & rear diff fluid. The owners manual says to "check" the fluids at 30k miles.

What do you guys think? Should I change those fluids at 30k miles just for peace of the mind?

If I had a brand new truck, I would do exactly as the owners manual says just for piece of mind.

Well the owner manuals says to put 6.1quarts with filter change into the 2TR, that over fills the engine by about a quart on the dipstick...LOL
