What have you bought in the last 48 hours gun related?

Considering a suppressor that may work on both if possible

 

Granted I haven’t done anymore than consider it. I understand the tax stamp involved and I imagine suppressors aren’t cheap

 

your 556/223 suppressor will work on your 10/22. The only issue will be faster residue build up, as most rimfire rounds are very dirty and they are non jacketed rounds.

The other issue is weight. Due to the nature of the pressures, 556 suppressors are typically in a SS outer shell with SS baffles. Rather than weighing a few ounces, they are typically over a pound.

I would highly recommend that if you buy a 556 suppressor with intension to use it for both 556 and .22lr, buy one that can be disassembled, and clean it every outing. This will keep you from building up major nasty residue, which is a bear to remove without harsh chemicals. Do not ever use the harsh chemicals on the outer tube. Once the markings are degraded, the suppressor is worthless and will may not pass NFA standards. Chemical cleaning of baffles or a mono core can be done with care as to not destroy baffle mating surfaces.
