I know it's kind of beating a dead horse on this topic. but I just need another opinion. I'm considering a lift but not really sure which way to go. I want to I stall it myself and and not a mechanic but can figure some things out. (I dont have a welder). I'm currently doing a facelift on the front of the truck with a new grill and alpharex luxx lights. Right now I have spacers and blocks. 3 in in the front and two in the back. It seems the front is sagging a little but apparently spacers do not sag. I started with a little bit of wheel rub when I first got the lift but now it is extremely bad and the front seems lower. Wondering if a proper 3in would do good or a 6in lift. I really like the look of a 6in but that's about it. For the look. I do lots of trails and for some reason my taco seems the like lots of grapefruit sized rocks. I'm on trails once a week or every other week. Washboard is an issue many of the times and sometime i will air down to 25psi.
    Looking for under 2k.
What would you suggest for the price and why?

I suggest maxtrac spindles. They provide 4" of lift and then if you want more later you can get some 2" lift coilovers and that would put you at 6" up front. Way more ground clearance and dont need to cut the frame like you would with a drop bracket lift, so it's easily reversible if ever needed. You can use your stock UCAs and coilovers with the maxtracs to get you started. I think they're around 600 for the front setup

I second the spindles. I would get some Bilstein 5100's. That would be relatively cheap and the 5100's will give you room for adjustment without going to a coilover.

6 inch looks fine plus with 2wd its cheaper and easier to do a sixxer vs a 4wd

Ha, yeah I have read that. I'd be happy with a 4 as well. Mostly want to ditch the rubbing.

OP, have you thought about what size tire you want to use? I was able to run a 33x12.5 with 5100's set at 2".

Keep in mind that the spindles with widen your track width by about 1.5-2" also.

You can get into all kinds of issues when doing anything over three inches on our trucks. Really changes the geometry of the truck.

I dont think the spindles changes the geometry other than lowering the hub 4". You should be able to stay within alignment spec. The 5100's set a 2" will change the geometry tho. Without longer arms you will experience some bump steer and alignment will have some positive camber.

Ok thunder. Thanks, I Dont want that.

Right now I am running 33" tires. I will keep the same size.

So the 4" spindles are pretty safe as far as driveability and overall performance? I want to avoid any possible issues and not compromise anything. I want it better or par of what it is now. :)
Going 3 inches in the back change anything? I'm guessing not really.

Yes they're safe and much beefier than our stock spindles. 3" in the rear wont change anything.

He could get away with it if he’s not off roading, right?

pinion angle will be hard on u-joints if to much, brake lines might as well put the right length on

Those came with extenders. Hmm... I do off road and want off roading to be better then stock. I dont want to have to worry about doing 40 on gravel and rocky roads. If there is any chance for a failure I'll have to find a different way. I want to be harder on it then I am now. If it's not going to have better resaults I might find a better place to put money. Maybe some decent coil overs or something.

3 inches you might get away with being hard on the u-joints ask someone , you could always put shims to improve the angle, they sell them for that reason
