Cloudy and rainy here tonight

 

the moon is looking weird as hell here now........you can see the middle of it...not the top and bottom half.

 

Cant see shit here.. frickin rain

 

Cloudy here. There is also a meteor shower tonight so watch for that too. With the eclipse it actually might be visible.

Hopefully it clears up somewhat here. Why you want to watch it ? Cause it is also happening on the longest night in the year and last time was like almost 500 years ago. Next time it happens on that date is actually currently unknown.

Since it's also the longest night of the year and the moon is essentially lit by sunset it should be redder than ever because of the shallow angle. Like winter sunsets have more color than summer ones because of this angle. More red.

So if you get a chance look for it cause it's a once on a lifetime event.

 

Will definetly check it out. Taking some pictures with my DSLR camera and 250mm zoom lens too.

I read somewhere that the next time it will happen on the the winter solstice is like 2095 or something like that.

I'd say that date is wrong. (2095) It's about a 500 year occurrence.
