Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I do not purposely ignore anyone. Many times I simply don't see the post.

We also have our own forum and are trying to stay out of here when possible because it's very hard to keep the information relevant as the thread constantly shifts topics.


Currently we are working on a big update, almost done, almost ready for release. During this time shipping, master keys, etc are going to be delayed.


We go as fast as possible but it's just 2 of us doing it right now.


The whole purpose of this update is to ensure future delays do not happen. We are completely eliminating any extra steps, automating everything so that nobody has to wait in the future.


I do thank everyone for their patience. This product has continually evolved, becoming easier at each step of the way.

I also want to make it CLEAR that posting here, PMing me here is not the best way to get your question answered.


Finally, please, please understand that with the release of vF Tuner, tacomas are NOT the only thing we do, and we get *literally* hundreds of new zendesk emails a day, so it can take some time to get to you, and there is no way around it right now. The main reason is we had to go back to manual....tedious individual emailing due to piracy, scams, etc related to our product. Unfortunately a few bad actors can make a change that affects the whole. This is something we all experience in life.

BUT, the best news I can give is that the new version not only makes the process nearly immediate after ordering (faster than ever before) and it ALSO will protect you from these shady new "Facebook tuners" offering you some flash that you don't know what you're buying and they disappear. Sadly, this is happening quite often as we get constant messages about it.


Our goal is not to stop anyone from stopping providing services, files, etc. Users here like Paparee and mooseditty and others have been great in providing support, collaboration, files, etc. The new version will create more people like that and eliminate the quick buck scammers.

 

I whole heartedly appreciate this response and I thank you for it! So with the new update then I assume I'll just restart the process after its done and then won't be needing the registration emails..thus making the current registration request null, am I understanding correctly?

I am near Raleigh NC. Looks like you're in Louisiana so thats unfortunately not close. Hopefully update will be done soon and then I can finally experience everything this has to offer

 

With the new process basically once you get your master key, everything else can be done right through the software right away. No registration keys, no emailing for files, none of that. You register and you go flash 10 mins later if you want.

Our new setup will making it possible to send master keys right after order too.


You don't have to wait for this new version, we are still sending our master keys, registrations, etc as per usual, just at a slower pace right now.

Awesome. Well which ever comes first-my registration request or the update I look forward to it. I have my master key and such I just got stuck at that system ID portion. I thank you foe ehat you do and for your responses!

Well I just got my email eith the registration yhing.. hopefully thats the last thing I need to tune! eith that said if it isn't i may take u up on that. Also, I'm going to linville to do OHG Friday, hurricane creek Saturday, and nemos tunnel Sunday if you want to join for any of it!! I appreciate the response

 

Anyone in the Denver area who can help me flash this? also would love to drive a tuned truck to see how it feels, before paying $700. thanks!

You would still need to pay the person flashing you the tune, I'm sure nobody is going to do it for free.

I been out of this forum for a while. Can someone explain to me can I still use the old flash tool? I have the obd 2 with a small tiny usb adapter (bluetooth?) I wanted to update to 1.5 or 2.0 or whatever it's suppose to be. I tried to download the old tool and download the tune, but its not allowing me. I sent some information to the zen, but was offered an update or a one time fee of 79. I have no idea what it is and is it worth it? I just wanted to get the latest tune, but if i'm force to update and send in the dongle I guess I would do it. I don't plan to tune it myself since I don't have the actual time. Any direction or help would be appreciated if not I'll just wait for an reply from the zendesk.

Hey all, been missing from this thread for a long minute. It sounds like we can flash other people’s trucks using our cable now? I’ve got a buddy that’s looking to get tuned, what’s the process and cost to flash someone else’s rig?

 

Cost will vary based on what year / transmission your buddies truck is.

if it’s the same ecu as yours, you are good to go. If it’s different than your truck, you’ll need some credits and a tune pack or community tune.

 

You’ve got a few options
If you are a dongle user, you can trade it in for a free upgrade
If you are dongleless, you can get the upgrade for $79
If you don’t want to do that, you can request files via zendesk

with vF, you can still get premade tunes to flash your truck but also gives you the ability to modify them if desired.

 

So just a quick question... what does changing the gear ratio and tire size in vF do? Does it dynamically change the other tables to reflect or no?
