i want a old forest service truck

 

The last thing I want to do is look like a FS employee

 

If I were younger and knew better back then, I'd have pursued a career in the forest service or national park system.

 

You damn near are one. Spend all your time in the forest

 

I got a buddy that became a fish and gamer officer. He said he hardly does shit all day and gets paid great

 

Just getting to work outdoors in nature and ride around on trails and make a living at it sounds awesome.

Without a degree in the field or starting out young at the bottom it just seems like one of those boats I missed out on

 

I knew a guy that got paid to control the animal population on air force bases to keep them off the runway. Mind blowing that he gets paid to maintain firearms, drive around in a government issued truck, and shoot things.

 

Yeah every time i see a regional park service truck up here im just like man. That be a fun job.

but I doubt they pay as good as hvacr lol

 

And all the regional park guys get 4wd lifted full size trucks with bumpers and winches. And just cruise all the private trails

 

Probably not, but state/government gigs usually come with great benefits/retirement. And if you start off young or with a degree in the field you could work your way up to a solid salary I'm sure.

 

Yeah but i get all that in hvacr. So not enough to make me switch.

Do hvac for the National Park system. I bet the hvac at the Furnace Creek center in Death Valley needs constant attention. They hit 134°F last summer

It's supposed to be 3 degrees here on Sunday. Nice that I get to test out my bypass trans cooler in all kinds of weather. It was 80 degrees just a few days ago.

 

I’ll be able work for the FS if I want when I get my degree, if they had an opportunity.

I couldn’t be a Forest service officer, i know how they get treated.
Probably why 90% of them are assholes.
