My cousin got me a new lava lamp for Christmas after the 27” Lava Grande I keep at work quit working; After the first lava lamp got lost in the mail and my cousin got a refund, she ordered me a new one and it arrived a couple days ago...

 

This is the first picture I took after turning it on; If you look closely, you’ll see that the coil heating element shifted during transport...

 

I have reason to believe that the lava lamp was kept in an unheated warehouse and at least partially froze during transit; It initially thought it had been damaged due to exposure to extreme cold and getting excessively jostled during transit...

 

These pictures were all taken on Monday or Tuesday...

 

Today, I turned it on before leaving for work this morning, and when I came back it was functioning perfectly!

 

So my cousin emailed me the gift receipt, and I was ready to send it back, but then my dad informed me that it “lava-ing” (my made-up word); So glad, because sending a lava lamp back to Amazon through the mail would have been a pain in the ass!

 

that sucks, well at least they got you a doggo, they are awesome buddies! Lets see a pic.

The day the guy came to pick it up and transport it to South Carolina (also January 2021)...

 

67 is my absolute fav.

even without the fastback, that design is SEXY.

 

The battery was at least thirty years old, but just for grins I wanted to see if anything worked, so I used my jumper cables to connect the Mustang to my truck...

 

Even if we did have the keys, I wouldn’t have dared try to start the engine, but the radio and horn both worked!




I should probably point out the battery in the car wasn’t actually powering it; The battery was just acting as a conductor of sorts, and my truck was essentially powering the radio and horn...

 

Also, this is not the original radio or speakers; I’m guessing that, given how few options car has, it originally had an AM radio...

 

After I pulled it into the street with my Boss’s Escalade when the shipping guy arrived; All of the wheels were locked up...

 

The Ram truck that picked up the Mustang; Luckily the trailer had a winch!

 

Getting the car onto the trailer was a 3-man job that took over an hour, no thanks to the frozen wheels...
