I kinda figured; Not a fan of aftermarket sunroofs as I heard they have a tendency to leak...

On many vehicles even the Factory sunroofs have a tendency to leak that is why they have channels with drain tubes attached.

@shakerhood has a 3rd Gen DCSB with a factory sunroof and he says the owner's manual recommends against taking the truck through an automated car wash!

LOL for good reasons. Sunroof / Moonroof = Leakroof.

The 1996 Pathfinder I had before my Tacoma had a factory sunroof, and leaking was never an issue; However, I'm pretty tall and one thing I noticed when driving that thing was the reduced headroom...

Kind of my thoughts as well.
“If it doesn’t leak now, it will”

I’d prefer a t top over a sunroof. Maybe even a convertible. A sunroof is just a waste of money and a leak waiting to happen. Only reason to have one if you have a limo and can stand up

It does, it says something like avoiding the high pressure water in the car wash.

My car is almost 30 years old and it has never leaked either.

I am convinced sunroofs will leak. However, I had a 1993 Tercel with a sunroof that never leaked (at least through 1999, anyway) and a 1991 Land Cruiser with a sunroof that never leaked through 2017. My 2016 Legacy sunroof never leaked, either. (Small timeframe, obviously.) I've never ever experienced a leaking sunroof, and I am still sure they will leak.

    Really miss having one, though.

I think any aftermarket sunroof will eventually leak, the factory ones are at least designed for the vehicle.

Sunroofs don't leak if they have the drains. Aftermarket ones are asking for trouble.

I hate sunroofs. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

My last car was a 09 Hyundai Tucson Limited, with a stock moonroof. Never even hinted at leaking.

A few cars before that I had an 86 Volvo 740 with a sunroof. It leaked if you didn't take care when closing it.

The sunroof on my grandma’s 1987 Mercedes 300E did not leak, but in the car’s later years it got stuck open at least once; It was a solid metal sunroof and did not have any glass, and luckily it did not get stuck open for more than a few minutes at a time...
