What's the relatively known threshold for 93 and power level?

Log has right at 40#/min, 8psi, .8 lambda, and IAT in the mid 90s. LOL, it's going to get serious. What does the injector duty cycle look like? I didn't see it or didn't recognize the naming.

Crank them up some more. Keep tabs on that lambda and inj duty cycle as you do it. 80% is good but 95% not so good IDC. 40# with 6-7psi more shouldn't be much to worry about. You get to 20psi sustained and still show 40# then something is up. Could be MAF sensor topped out or it just won't take it. Also, think of the aerodynamics inside the tubing and air speed can reach a "wall" like the sound barrier sort of, but different. Flow out changes also as more pressure is added and pressure in will change with engine load also. WOT up an incline may produce 20psi but WOT down the same incline may only be 17psi but each pass netting the same speed. I run a upwards of 30psi on my VW using 93oct pump gas and water injection.

If the engine can handle it I would turn it up to 20-24psi. Make a single log of it with a good roll on from an RPM just below spool up, spool up to max boost setting, and run that out to whatever RPM you're comfortable with. Read over log to verify fueling was good before proceeding further. Pretty sure you know and did that already since it went from 1 to 1033. I like to see the onset and spool up numbers dance around as the ECU keeps up.

One thing that sticks out are fields B, J, & AD don't add up to me. Pedal, Desired Throttle?, and Throttle Angle? Could be why no real increase in #/min flow but in pressure if throttle isn't opening fully.

Fords are a pretty wild with how the computer tunes. He was probably hitting his targets and the ecu will close throttle body to manage power.

May be. But that throttle position doesn’t feel right. The AD and AF seem to correlate as well.

I think AF is a wastegate compensation. Think the tuner left on all the compensations and just zero'd out the wastegate table.
That is what I did when I had my mazdaspeed with a larger turbo. He just has like 20 more columns than I did, lol. That ecu can log.

OK. Makes sense. My VW logs a butt load, too. Wastegate is controlled by an “n75” valve that varies its flutter rate to control it. Similar to a fuel injector cycling but air.

Basically that Ferd needs a little a tweaking then.

That was just a zero wastegate map. I'm sure a few tunes stuff will look better. Makes awesome power being only on spring pressure.

I'd like to play with my truck tune more. Haven't had the time to do some pulls. My truck barely logs, lol.
Another reason it needs to go to a haltech

My neighbor had a Ferd Lightning squarebody when they came out. I used to love hearing him tear out all the time headed wherever.

So the reason why the tune seems a little off and the reason the turbos were on all waste gates spring was because the truck had a lot of issues when I got it back after a year of waiting for the install to be done. I was constantly chasing problem after problem and I was about to give up on the truck when I sent it to the engine builder who gave it a once over. Which took another year and where we are at now.

Now that the annoying mechanical backstory is out of the way I can explain the tuning. We couldn't nail down the tune to save our lives. We were chasing boost spikes of over 24psi when making small adjustments over the course 5 revisions, 3 datalog files and two months later. We literally backed everything off to the tune you see now but with a ton of issues so the datalog numbers were worse. The torque tables were below stock and we just wanted to make a tune that we could get a baseline off of. Now that the truck is mechanically sound it's holding the boost and is very controllable. When the tuner said "I don't want to see anything over 22psi" and I reported it held 15psi we were more excited than upset because that means the tune and truck are working way better.

The Ford ECU has a ton of things it can monitor and the Ecoboost has two out of four O2's that can read afr and can see it from my X4. There's a ton of data you can monitor. Makes tuning awesome.

I actually asked about injector duty cycle too because I thought column N was logging that. The full column name is Fuel pump duty cycle. Unfortunately it wasn't and the explanation I got was They are regulated mechanical returnless pumps. This means it runs to 100% (.50 dc) flow and hits the regulator where the the excess fuel returns to the tank. This all happens in tank. Its almost like a return system.

What you really are going to want to see is the new datalog data. That will tell you weather the truck is going to be a heart breaker

I love old the 00's era lighting myself. Something about them reminds me of my childhood and watching fast and furious in the theaters

But same could be said for kids 10 years later and the tremor. That's a truck I wish I had this setup in. Damn that'd be a car magazine truck:drool:

    @Sleipnir

Well, sounds like y’all two are on the right path finally. I’m excited to see this thing putting down 6-700 hearse-pers. Then that v8 swap is up and running. That 4bt swap is kinda stalled right now though.

Plus side personally, I have an interview today for a job again and it happens to be with an old bossman. So it’s just a formality. Weather won’t break long enough for me to get my new clutch in my VDub but I can’t afford the retune just yet anyway. Get that squared away and I should be looking at +/-420hp. Prez and fuel prices pending....In looking at tackling a possible VW TDI (ALH) this spring for a work commuter. Trying to source one in a wagon layout or if I’m feeling brave maybe a swap if I can nail it down in less than a month.

Right!?!! I’ve been doing some reading and contemplating a VW swap since I’m familiar with the in/outs more than Toyota tuning. 1.9 TDI or possibly another 1.8t gasser. I’ve found adaptor plates back to my w59 for either and both put up better numbers than my 3rz. If I can score motor mounts and trans plate I can also score a motor, harness, and ECU from salvage. It’s the install that worries me since it’d be just me in my garage.

Well I managed to make my adjustments myself and confident enough to pay for a test print. I adjusted the mount to fit one of these tablets. Should be the perfect datalog setup. Also angled the mount 17.3* which should be perfect for the drivers view. I need to order the tablet still and see if it fits. Should be about a week and a half before it’s here.

    Whatcha guys think?
