Honestly I would be even happier if those HP and TQ numbers were reversed

I honestly cant remember what they said the TQ numbers were.. didnt care that much at the moment I learned it wont be out until late 2021... not to mention I like to see what the reviews are.. I take them all with a grain of salt (TFL trucks rating on the Tacoma is a bit biased).. but so far on paper the new frontier looks great.. aftermarket support is not as good, but still ahs options out there.

It's secretly the 4th gen Tacoma everyone wanted the 3rd gen to be.

according to an article I read about the new 22' tundra, theres also a shared global platform for the new tacoma and 4 runner in 2023... we shall see.. but with the way to tundra is going with a turbo v6.. I am doubtful of any improvements for the tacoma power wise.. however.. a turbo 4 banger.. maybe some 8-10 speed transmissions...i shudder TO THINK THEY MAY INTRODUCE AN eco-drive hybrid...

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
What do I think about it?
    -
    It's not a Tacoma.
    -
Enough about the effing Frontier. Way too many threads on this that shouldn't be discussed on a forum dedicated to Tacomas.

If my friend who’s 6’5 can drive a taco comfortably then most people should be fine. People make way to big of a deal out of the seating position. The difference between the current gen taco and frontier is off-road capability and longevity. If you own a frontier, you get rid of it after 200k. If you own a taco you drive that biatch to 300k and up. I have a gut feeling this new gen frontier will be the same way.

I think it’s a Nissan. And that’s about all the thought I will give it.

I like the looks, but It’s a nissian, transmissions sucks..

Toyota is known for reliability. And that is so important when you are on the trail.

I like the Idea of 9 speed tranny.

contradicting yourself.. lol. I view it more of a "things to come for other manufacturers (IE:competition breeds innovation)"... if nissan can pull out of a 14 year slump with the frontier, there is hope for the tacoma to change things up.. maybe put a better powerplant in the tacoma, better 8 or 9 speed transmission... I cross my fingers and hope they do not go integrated hybrid, but that is the trend lately.. the 2022 tundra may or may not be a good thing, we will ahve to wait and see the specs, and reviews on the new platform, as it is the intended route for the 2023 tacoma/4runner to be a global platform chassis..

    Ok
sounds like it huh. Naw just saying looks good on the outside. nissians trannys blow, in general..had some in the fleet and they had the same issue on different models.

Yes, Hopefully it kicks Toyota in face and gives them a wake up call
