Not build thread related but I visited a buddy at his work today. They have some incredible rigs there, was amazing to see!

So no updates on this for the tacoma. I’ve been working on my bronco project.

Fixed this mess. Water pump was leaking from the weep hole, and I think I found out why the thermostat wasn’t working.. tons of gunk in there.8D50F75D-9D4F-40C4-BD21-CFDEE8D20AD2.jpg
    17560EC3-BC69-4B77-AC1A-EA230260EEAF.jpg 4E2E3806-9078-4296-B77A-5DF0B8E2901B.jpg

New tstat, bypass hose, water pump, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires.BE38526C-69BD-4F57-9826-8C0D66AF9F95.jpg
Then I replaced the power steering likes because they both were leaking bad.

I also had to take apart the whole devil sent steering column. Ignition acuator was broken, and the turn signal switch. It was a pain in the ass but I got it all fixed now. I still have a lot to do, but it’s getting there. I feel like I have made good progress in a week for just working on it when I get home from work

I also bought a new daily to drive. Projects out the ass!

Awd turbo fun time. Needless to say the tacoma is kind of kn the back burner for now. I am mostly focusing on the bronco for the time being. Once I get all the little issued fixed up I am not sure if I am going to keep it or sell it. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.

Took my little brother on his first offroad adventure, We were gonna run up to skyline or near by there but with the rain I knew it would be closed so I chose City Creek trail which should have just been an easy fire road. Since we were alone and it was his first time I didn’t want to scare him too bad lol.

As you can see at the beginning it was pretty tame with some nice views.

It was after this point that things started to go down hill very quickly. The remaining 5-7 miles or so had a lot of areas that were clay with the rain starting to come down hard. It was very hard to control the truck and I was sliding all over the place. A few times I slid against the wall and thought for sure my truck was going to be dented to all hell. We eventually made it through very slow and steady. I will say tight switch backs and snotty clay is a somewhat scary experience. In this situation I am not sure that my lsd rear end was helping as it felt the rear wheels were turning my truck not the fronts.

Closer to the exit the rain turned to snow which was awesome.
When we finally made it out I parked next to some heavy equipment so we could celebrate not dying and also have fun in the snow for a little bit.

Overall it was a great little trip. Definitely reminds me of the dangers going alone especially when it is raining out.

We plan on hitting up Ocotillo wells next weekend for Tierra Del Sol 2020. Should be a fun time to go play in the desert and watch people beat the piss out of their rigs doing things I would never take my truck through.

Hows the Donaldson filter doing, was thinking about doing the AFE dry instead of this oiled mess..

I ran it for awhile. It’s great at filtration. You will notice a hit on performance especially once it starts getting contaminants in it. I have it on strictly offroad duty now, and for most driving I am running the afe pro dry filter. The pro dry is ok, not the best for very dusty environments though.

I believe afe sells prefilters for them. Just gotta look up the filter part # and cross reference on their site.

Well I have traded for something that may be actually build thread worthy. B52A40D5-876F-4BA6-B557-71554CAB706A.jpg
Might be hard to tell from the shizzy pic but it is a solid front axle. This thing needs some work but I think she has a lot of potential. Gonna miss my subaru though.

Honestly tried to blow the motor up last night and it didn’t. So I am wondering if it’s something stupid. There is a lot of vibrations so I gotta check shit out. Probably send out an oil sample too for the lolz

Yeah man. I am not sure what exhaust was on the car, I think it was straight pipes from turbo down except a little resonator. It sounded so god damn good. One day I will get another one. But for now I am going to beat the absolute shit out of this poor tacoma (the crawler). I think the engine either has a messed up valve or the harmonic balancer on the passenger side is shot. Hoping to research more this weekend on wtf is going on. Pretty sure the truck needs a clutch too so that is fun :bananadead:

Gonna make me pour some concrete and get a lift I think because my jack is maxed out and barely touches the frame haha. I suppose I could just jack it from the axle tube, I prefer to jack from the pumpkin but I guess yolo.
