I love the old one but I do have to admit that newer one looks nice set up like that. My boss (also a yota 4x4 lover) told me yesterday that next year a 6cyl turbo is being offered in the tundra. Would be nice if it was a 6cyl turbo diesel, but its not.

I appreciate that very much Dave!

I do have another question, do you think i should get the tensioner or no? I have no idea if its ever been replaced. The literature that I have on the vehicle doesn't say anything about it. It's just always had cheap timing belts and water pumps. Its been through more belts than pumps as well.

Fortunately the guy did have at least the belt changed ever 60k

I mean i can get the tensioner with the kit for not much more money, so i'm thinking i might as well just get it and if it needs it, i'll already have it.

    Hey fellow Marylanders.

Bought my first Toyota, a Tacoma TRD Sport a few weeks back. No real plans for it other than bed storage accessories, A/T tires, and running boards to help the missus step up (we're both 63 and retired now). 90% local driving and trips, 10% unimproved roads and some mild trails. Nothing where sliders would be need to be welded in.
Anyhow, if there are meetups from time to time, I'm all ears...

In addition to stuff here, If you're into facebook, there are a few local groups that are active for meetups/offroading. Maryland Off Road Enthusiasts is pretty big and does off-roading and some parking lot style meetups, Old Bay Tacos is a smaller group that does both off-roading and meetups, and HiluxSurf Off Road does both in the NOVA-Maryland area. If you're not into facebook, those events from facebook do get posted in here occasionally as well.

But dont you have to move the AC compressor to get the bolts for the tensioner out?
