Will a tap work, or is the chaser/cleaner the preferred method?

 

Chaser. As the full threads start closer to the beginning of it, and is has a flat faced tip.

How about plug wires? I've got about 71,793 on those and 11,880 on the plugs...

 

Well my truck was still running fine. I don’t think the coils would be a problem

I've got a little bit of paranoia from my 1st gen after trying to drive up Vail pass with 2 cylinders misfiring due to the spark going through the insulator on the plug wires to the heads rather than through the plugs...

 

You don’t have plug wires. Coils sit right on top of each spark plug

I feel worse, I waited till 100k for plugs. But its all good now.

 

You guys are worrying me. I've got just under 30K miles on mine. New ones are on-hand, but weather's been colder than I prefer for garage work and it doesn't help that I dread the myriad of adapters I'll probably need to buy to do the job without removing the S/C...

 

so what is the deal with 3 of 6? which side of motor was the bad side? Any thoughts or reasoning for understanding why one side is worse? Can fuel trims side to side possibly indicate different fueling requirements? Maybe one side is leaner/hotter?
