Wife and I (recent empty nesters) just last fall bought a nice piece of land in Allegheny County. Lots of trees, great views, lots of spring water, some old logging roads through it. Its so beautiful up there and way less busy and less $$ than Ashe County (West Jefferson).

We're in the process of putting a shed on it that will double as a cabin until we build a more permanent structure.

I just wanna win the lottery and buy out everyone else on our family property up in NH or buy a nice sprawling piece of property somewhere that I'm not near anyone. I'm narrowing my choices of states down and NC is sadly as much as I love my home state not on that list.

Gf and I are in TN for the weekend and my ABS and traction control light came on while driving. Cruise control won’t work and won’t go into 4WD....checked fuses, and ABS wires, all are fine. Abs wire and connectors are fine at the bottom of the spindles. Anybody think of what the issue may be? I know traction control isn’t working due to excessive wheel spin when climbing steep grades in the rain. Wheels just spin freely. Any help? @zippsub9

    *Insert poop emoji* gen problems

ABS wires are tough on the outside and fragile inside. If one got caught and stretched the wire inside can break and you not notice it on the outside, I know from experience.

Find someone with Techstream local and they can read any ABS codes.

Sounds like it's still driveable, at least on the street.

Careful cause that may mean in a hard braking scenario that you’d possibly lock up. I know that cold snap is laying some ice down near where you are at

I drove the Jeep with a broken abs sensor for a couple months and just had to keep my distance in case I had to slam the brakes

I gotta put my computer on it to see what codes it is kicking back. Does anyone around you have an OBD2 reader capable of ABS codes or just a reader in general that may show codes? Not completely familiar with third Gen but I though in second gens guys could just pull the ABS fuses and run without perhaps in a VERY controlled parking lot like environment pull the under hood ABS fuse then try to operate without ABS and go into 4WD as a last resort until we can troubleshoot.

We never reset your VSC after installing the new lift. I guarantee this is tripping it. You have a different ride height. Let me try to dig and find the procedure for 3rd Gen VSC reset. You must be on level ground to do it.

I say pay it forward, if he doesn't want anything for it. That's part of the joy of the forum, lots of kind helpful folks that just want to help.

@zippsub9 i don’t have my scanner with me. Will be driving home tomorrow with no abs or traction control. May try to reset my VSC before the drive home to see if I can get the codes cleared

I am almost positive the VSC reset will resolve it all.

Is there a local place to buy that type and size of rope? I would like to try that.
