Just wanted to give TW a heads up that the new Dometic CFX 55 IM fits under a diamondback bed cover on the Tacoma. I just got mine delivered and test fit it yesterday. About 1/8" of space left and that includes having the rubber toyota bed mat in there with it.

Thanks for sharing this fitment info . It's tight but just right. Your new fridge will be protected from the elements and your bed cover will keep the uninvited out of your ice cream

Thanks for choosing one of our coolers! We truly appreciate the business!

Do you know if this will fit under an MX4 tonneau cover?

Here are the dimensions of the CFX3 55IM. You'll need to measure what space you have between your bed and the bottom of the tonneau to determine if it will fit.

    Hope this helps!

I'm running the dometic cfx 95qt fridge, slide, and cover. It's a monster but I love it!!!

I also cut the cigarette plug off and soldered in an Anderson plug. Works great and I never have to worry about the plug coming loose.

I have a Dometic CFX40 plugged into a Jackery 500 which I have plugged into my truck so the jackery charges while I drive. When im stationary I use a rockpals 100watt solar panel to charge the jackery.

I was gonna purchase a fridge but scratched it off my list, if you get a fridge you need a dual battery system or a portable battery(goal zero), if you do other work on the side or need power on the go i suggest goal zero as its plug and play, im a weekend warrior so I use a a yeti cooler (roadie 24) with ice it lasts a day and a half, but I pack non perishable food for the other half, so it works for me, if I was living out ther then Iw ould get a fridge, my cooler cost $200 a fridge with a portable battery and solar youre looking at atleast $1500

Can you run a Dometic Refrigerator off the 400watt plug in the bed of the 2021 Tacomas? or plug a battery bank into the 400watt plug while driving to charge the bank then use the bank to power the refrigerator at camp?

A little off topic, but how do these lithium batteries do in the cold? I know my phone will go from 100 to ZERO real quick when its cold out...

You dont need a dual battery. I’ve run off a single group 27 AGM for 2+ years now.

It really comes down to how long you plan on being stationary. I typically move everyday, so it works great. If you are going to go somewhere and not move for a week, then you need either more battery capacity or solar.

Depends... how cold. Most lithium batterys don't have internal heaters so you can't charge them or you will destroy it. Cold will reduce the capacity of all batterys. I think calcium batterys are the most resilient but have many downsides. The more expensive stuff usually come with internal heating packs that kick on automatically, but thats usually a consistant 120w draw.

I run a x3power group 27 agm with a dometic 75DZ, no issues so far. Keep in mind you want to run the fridge off DC vs AC, DC will be way more efficient.

I regularly camp in 20F weather, and sometimes it goes down to 0-10F range. Clearly not an issue with running a fridge, so its the battery I'm more worried about.

Stock - but I'm also not running a fridge.

Inevitable setup would probably look like an AGM to replace the stock battery, and a 1500watt solar generator (i.e. yeti goal zero or something like it) in the back. But I'm open to other options up front because AGMs are heavy and I don't wanna wreck my radiator supports with all that weight.

That sounds like a good setup. All I can say is I haven't had any issues with the radiator support but i'm only running a group 27 vs the stock 24. The group 31 which ive seen alot of people run is almost 20lbs heavier.
