Harbor freight has some cheap swivels. I used them for lots of stuff during my motor swap. I'd just take them apart and put some locktite on the bolts holding the pieces together before using them..

 

You guys should start a 'pass it on' sort of rental program for the thread chaser, on the assumption you won't be using it a lot, sort of the way people do with the ECGS bushing tools. Although, it isn't that expensive so maybe folks just like to have it in the tool arsenal.

 

Nah I think it was random. Front two of motor were like that and the middle one from the driver side

I am about 30 min north of you and I was under the truck in the 20's a few nights ago changing out the diff/transfer case oil. Nitrile gloves don't do jack for keeping hands warm.

 

I try to schedule preventative maintenance and upgrades around the seasons. Outside of an emergency, I'm not interested in shivering my way through a job that can be more easily accomplished when days are longer and warmer.

 

Haha I didn't run into this thread until the last couple of years. And I'm LAZY as ****. dreaded the snout oil change, and didn't have the right tools.

 

You can use universals like @Murphinator did

Yes! Also if you have cheap universals if you wrap them in some electric tape they work much better
