    Yeah, I gotcha.

I'm saying you make the lighting and shadow changes and hit save, bam, you manually applied your own filter. That's just my way of thinking about it, lol. I have photoshop CS4 on my old PC. Could tweak my photos if I wanted too.

just a couple of things tbh
In truth it is basically my own filter but it’s not considered a “filter” and I’ve used photoshop a bit but without having any training on it have no clue how to use it so I just stay with Lightroom

Just gonna interject for a sec and say there's a reason a photographer would not like to be accused of using a preset filter (Which by saying the word "filter" is what people are gonna assume). They look like shite usually... mostly because people don't tone them down and are easy for people to spot. Nothing wrong with jazzing up a pic on either end though. Filters are fine, manually editing lighting, contrasts, etc. is fine.

I have an old ass iPhone; the pictures are decent enough, but when it comes to product photography (what I normally edit) it would definitely be better to have a macro lens. Any photo can usually benefit from a little doctoring to make it look more true to life on screen. Insta actually has a pretty decent set of editing tools for novices like myself, but my photos are by no means that great. However, I will abashedly admit that I use that first cool colored filter for clear blue dice turned down to like 10%. Really helps bring out the blues and teals in a lot of the sets I make lmao. Outside of that though I usually avoid preset filters.

Yes, I don't disagree with any of that. Things in real life are never accurately captured on photo, so I would do the same.

It’s been something I’ve wanted to learn more of but there is also so much I also need to learn with photography and videos it gets a bit overwhelming when I’m trying to basically try new things and see how they do and sometimes I waste an entire day trying something new

Maybe, but lens geometry and size drastically affect field of view and focal length for those sensors. So it's a trade off in most cases. Plus the sensors in dedicated full size mirrorless cameras are on a different level of quality. It's a tool with more options.

Yep. Phone cameras lean heavily on the phone's processing power to compensate for hardware limitations. The difference in uncompressed photo files is pretty obvious when you look at them on a computer screen and not on the tiny phone screen. There are so many weird artifacts on phone camera pictures, the photos they take are still incredible.

dont consider my self a photographer tbh (only do this for a hobby) but i do dislike it when people say i use "filters" (basically sounds like im taking the easy way out) since i spend hours on editing photos and scrap loads of ones i just dont like. im still learning all this but its a load of fun i want more lenses to do new type of shots but man for a mirrorless camera they are not cheap!

We used the whole Adobe Suite in digital media.
Drafting we used the whole AutoCAD suite at the time. (Fusion wasn't a thing yet)

It was made by a camera company. It's more or less a digital camera with phone functions.
