I've been considering putting headers on my Tacoma for some more horsepower. I've look at the TRD headers and all I've heard is that there a PITA to install. Has anyone installed ______ headers and liked them. What kinda HP gain did you get? More low range, midrange? Any input is helpful to me.

I heard it wasnt worth the time and money on N/A trucks, i was thinking about a set too for my 01 but decided not too since they say you barely get any performance gains

Huh I was talking to a guy who said that he really thought his TRD headers gave him some good hp. But that it was still a PITA. Thanks for the input:D

The headers will give a good gain. ABout 10 or so h.p. 15 when used with a good exhaust. They are not that hard to install, its just a bit time consuming getting to some things. Jack the front of the truck up, and remove the tires and wheel well liners, and it should be pretty easy.

I've heard that there real PITAS on the first gens the TRD headers... anyways I think that's what I would end up going with once I get the money.

I had a set of trd headers on my 97 3.4L and I thought they werent a PITA to install... now like chris 4x4 said there are some hard to reach areas I mean just look at your factory manifolds hardest part for me was removing the old ones (rusted) as for hp gain...dunno I installed S/C,exhaust and pulley boys pulley all at same time so when i started it up at end of day I was probably playing with 100hp extra

^^^ Damn well thanks for the info, sounds like the TRD headers are the route that I'm going to go but first I got to get the money which is a little hard being in college and all. But there is Christmas coming up so who knows. Thanks for the help!
