I used to hate it when folks said this before I purchased, but the vF Tune is all that I can recommend since you're on the latest TSB tune and had the LVs reset.

Dealer said they checked ATF level and it was good. I dont know if I should trust them though. I gotta learn then how to check atf level and checking condition would be to replace it, no?

btw, i was literally just reading that thread haha

Dealers...I'll just say, finding a good one is like bobbing for apples in a turd punchbowl.

You're going to need Techstream or similar to access temp check mode. Toyota removed the pins at the OBD that allowed manual access in '20.

Like I said, fluid replacement may or may not be your fix.
It's 'the other guy's' fix...did it clean the tc clutch, clear a sticky piston, correct fluid friction, adaptive learn was reset...?

Did the behavior come about just recently?

That's about the mileage some notice 'misbehavior'. Maybe try an adaptive learn reset? Maybe it's software...

Was 4,000 miles in late Sept-early Oct?

I got the truck Oct.14. I’d say i started feeling querks a little after new years thats around the time I hit 4,000. I took it into the dealer showing them the latest tsb i found and they looked into it. My truck already had the latest update from factory so service advisor recommended ecm reflash to reset learning to day 1 but it changed nothing. Truck almost feels worse

TC shudder issue is right here in these settings. This stock 2017 ECU (TSB 2018). It has nothing to do with the fluid level. Speeds in kph. 3rd table is how much throttle allowed when you press your pedal. in 5th , TC locks at very low speed. Once it locked, the truck wont accelerate much due to accelerator limits for 5th gear. You have to either dent the firewall (downshift to 4th) or let the pedal go to unlock the TC and start accelerating. In your 45-50 mph scenario , the table speed is 80, to unlock TC you have to be 39 mph at 26* to 100* of accelerator, which is subject of the limits table. VF tuner allows to change this value to get rid of it even on Stock ECU calibration

OP, watch these videos for ShiftSense Pro.
I have driveline vibration I need to have addressed at the dealer, then I plan to install this to remedy the 40-50mph shudder.
Others have installed this and the issue goes away because it holds the shift until 52mph.
    Installation is easy peasy.
No changes to ECU if you need to remove for warranty work...

No, start with it. The accelerator limits are increased on it. this will give you more throttle.
If not satisfied, you can get a more refined tunes

Ok as this thread developes something isn't right and your dealership isn't putting enough effort into it. I spend a lot of time in the 45ish mph range including on rolling hills. Haven't felt anything out of place, just rolled over 7k, 2021 Trail. V6 auto.

Sucks people are having some serious hassles with the trans and going through hell to sort it out. Thankfully its not an issue across the board.

OP don't back down with the dealership about it. Sucks after the crap with your chevy (my boss had his trans rebuilt and new TC with it because of TC problems, 2016 Sierra). But rest assured, it's not a problem with all of them, bullshit after everything you dealt with you got one of the basket cases.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
So instead of 6 gears of poorly tuned transmission we’ll have 8 gears of poorly tuned transmission.

It really depends on the driving terrain, local traffic conditions and personal driving habits.
Your truck can be easily put in the shudder..

I’m having a real tough timé trying to distinguish if this is really TC shudder or a bad driveline vibe. This morning on the way to work, i noticed the same vibration accelerating from 30 mph up to about 45 then once 45 hits, it is a pulsating, oscillating vibration.

Press the brake pedal to get the TC to unlock completely.

if vibration persists, then this is not a torque converter Issue?

I did the ECGS bushing when I did my lift 6 months ago. then 3 weeks later I ordered the carrier bearing drop from OME... drops the carrier bearing about 1/4" no change.. starting to believe the tacomabeast vid.....

    https://www.youtube.com/embed/fsNB0HQPxvw

and for $500 with better U-joints (greasable, and user replaceable!!!) i'll go to a 1 piece driveshaft.. and ditch the issues associated with a carrier bearing, and non-serviceable joints.
