Sad people lost their life in this. People need to learn to slow down in bad weather. Will keep them in my prayers.

 

Yep. I saw 18 wheelers hauling ass and thought they were idiots especially since people like to cut them off not knowing trucks braking distances are huge

 

Can't slow down on ice.

There wasn't snow on the ground. It was ice. You have traction, then you don't. This was on one of the busiest highways in the country in one of the busiest urban areas.

 

Ice. You can't stop on ice.

 

There were plenty of 18 wheelers here hauling ass during the last ice storm. People just don’t think. I went around one that was sliding sideways that morning. Better to just pull over and be safe than risk lives.

 

Truck drivers are pretty bad as a general rule, sadly.

Same here. Poor maintenance, although that's a company thing these days, over stressed delivery schedules and that can be argued somewhere else. Digital tracking and mandatory test times force extended travel times on drivers.

 

Better to not drive at all period. I have KO2’s so if it ain’t an emergency, I ain’t moving my truck at all
