yeah sounds about right for mine too. Was the OG pump. Shouldn't take you long to fix it. Be a bit of a pain with the full tank but I think you can syphon it out with that year of tank, can't remember what year yours is..But i had to do that to mine. Didn't take long.

 

I'll put a set on as well, when there's one available . These new limit straps finally have me worried about speed. Because speed causes cracks.

 

It's a 97. Not sure if it has the screen blocking the tank.

 

Totally understand wanting fine tune the product. This thread shows you have a good amount of interest.

 

Bad ass and totally acceptable with a MIG welder. I've filled larger gaps with a TIG and it wasn't too hard, considering. I am with the other gents. Make it happen!

 

Yeah you should be able to syphon it just fine.

 

Well got the tank out and pulled the pump out and connected it directly to the battery and tested it. It worked fine. Put it back in the tank and the truck fired right up. The most fun part is that both of the strap bolts broke that hold the tank up. Time to drill some bolts! Easier removal than a Tacoma if things went smoothly.

 

I'm not sure I could trust it (the pump) after that.

 

Yeah if I'd have done the effort to pull it I'd have just replaced it.

 

I agree but I didn't have a new one to replace it with, just my spare for the Tacoma. It's a lot easier to drop the T100 tank. Once the filler neck is disconnected the whole think dops low enough to pull the sending unit out.

It'll probably leave me stranded in a worse place next time...

Well, didn't take long for the fuel delivery to quit in the T100 again. Kind of thinking I may have water freezing up and blocking the fuel line. Seems odd both times this has happened the truck ran just fine when parked.

 

Is it a loose connection on the pump?

 

Connections looked fine. I would think I'd feel it stumble when I was driving it on bumpy roads if it was a connection issue.

 

Ya you would think so but when we had to pull the pump on your taco it ended up not being fully plugged in and you intermittent issues there. Just a thought.

 

It stumbled once before it picked up again and I made it another mile. This has happened on the T100 while its been parked, so nothing is moving causing a connection to shake. Why I don't think it's a bad connection.

 

Got the driver side bucket finished up today and took the Tacoma for drive. Feels like it pulls a bit better without this shitty flex pipe restricting things. I was able to pull the small pass in 4th and still accelerate usually I'm just barely maintaining speed.



I was able to weld two of the three side on the engine bay side without removing anything but a couple vacuum hoses.


Forgot to weld the brake line bracket back on before painting...


New wideband sensor isn't pegging lean under WOT anymore and I think I've got all the exhaust leaks sealed up. P0420 code begone!

 

Good lord that is horrendous! Hard to believe that it was designed in such a fashion.

The gusset looks fantastic.

 

That flex pipe just has a little bit of restriction to it.

 

Ended up being the fuel pump. Not sure why it decided to work when I pulled it the first time. Doesn't work now.
