yeah there is real no way to lower the factory C channel which everything mounts too. Only option is cutting the camper i don't think the other wedge campers have this flange inside much so ill just cut it i guess. Sadly my old plastic caps are all broken even if i wanted to go back not really an option for me now.

might call and see if its coated and or if they can cut it off if its not been powder coated other wise ill just do it there myself. Not ideal but part of the risk jumping in too a new different design and wanting somthing custom.

I agree. Side windows no big deal. Slider in front a bigger deal. Being able to climb into cab if needed or to use the extra length to carry fishing gear, etc. just nice to have but not a deal breaker. The tent looks well made besides its short comings but the attachment options inside and out of the shell make for a huge variety for modifications. And the biggest deal to me is its a bed also. And some of the wedge bed designs require completely enclosing yourself from the bed and if one of you wants to get up in the middle of the night you would have to remove the foot of the bed to get out. No thanks. With the Superpacific, When the bed is fully extended, there is still room to stand at the foot of the bed. So, the sleeping frame is open to the bed of the truck. Far more utilitarian.

Oh I didn’t know it had an illumination. I haven’t looked at the wiring. I’ve been busy. I’m going to wire mine just for it to light up when I brake. I’m not a fan of the third brake light illuminating.

I’m interested in what they have to say about removing the flange to accommodate the kbvoodoo or aftermarket bed rails? I am in the same boat. I no longer have the stock rails. I will not be able to modify at pick up with a cut off wheel either.

Think it would be possible to loosen the C channel and tuck the flange behind the channel? Not having seen the system in person it is hard for me to visualize a solution.

I was thinking maybe get some 50/20 bars and make my own. That’s all the Prinsu is. I’ll have a few extra after I have my Prinsu. Also the front runner cross bars are similar and low profile

I don’t think this is possible. Or rather, this scenario does not seem possible on my 3rd Gen, idk what you have or how the 2nd and 3rds compare in this respect. I can show photos of why tomorrow

Should be easy. I can snap a photo of the top rack of the prinsu rack something along those lines but lower would work perfectly. I got the idea form that since it sits low uses channels on my current shell and may just be a perfect setup. (or by longer ones if needed.

I'm leaving for Portland first thing tomorrow morning, gonna stop and bike in a few places on the way up weather dependent.

Removed the passenger rear seat this week and replaced with a platform. Also got the base plate ready, I'll install once I get home.

Can't wait! Have a few days around PDX then have 2 weeks or so to drive down the OR/CA coast.

I would appreciate your input on why you don't think it would work. I have a 2nd gen. I know the C/T channels are the same but not sure about anything else. Thanks!

This base plate looks excellent. What kind of wood, thickness, and varnish did you use?

I believe the T rail is reenforced where it's mounted now, and I fear that moving it down could cause it to lose integrity an possibly pull out of the bedside over time - after all that's how the camper is mounted on the truck.
