Eibach PRO TRUCK Coilover 2.0 Stage 2

Gotcha. My first measurements indicated about a 1.5" lift in the front with un-adjustment which still gives a about a 1" rake (paired with 1.5" aal) and the taco lean. So I wanted to get the spanner adjustment taken care of to remediate the rake/lean before alignment.

 

I'm looking at possibly getting these for my 2nd gen, but does anybody have any experience using these coilovers with a bumper, winch, skids, and sliders? The price is great, but if I have to get different springs put on I don't know if it would be worth it.

Anyone know the "motion ratio" or an estimate on the thread adjustment amount for desired lift amount? I'm guessing everyone just shoots from the hip to dial it in. I just remeasured and found the front to be 1" lower on the passenger and 1.25" on the driver. I was planning on increasing the thread height .5" and .75" to start.

 

Do you have Tanner's direct number? I tryed him at this number 915 256 8300 and could not reach him. I also want to check with him on running these on my 2nd Gen. Thank you in advance!

 

Thanks for the feedback. After reading through the install for the coilovers, it does say it is included. I wonder why Eibach doesn't mention that on their website. My coilovers are BO until 2/26/21. I sure hope it doesn't slip further than that. Those are last items I am waiting for on my new suspension, then I will do the install.

 

Well FWIW I seem to have gotten about 1/4" of lift per 1 full revolution of the threaded collar. One full revolution of the collar gained about 1/16" of threads on the shock.

I'm currently bottom wheel lip to fender 32" in back and 31.5" in the front. My new wheels/tires should hopefully be in tomorrow and I'll recheck after they're installed and I drop it off for alignment.

 

I do believe what you measured is prob right but for some reason it doesn’t make sense to me. I learned that the springs in a Coilover are only setting ride height so you would think there would be a 1:1 ratio between collar travel via the threads and suspension lift (at least until the spring started compressing). If you push the bottom of the spring up 1/4”, wouldn’t the lift go up the same amount? I don’t see a multiplication factor though (i.e. 1/16” thread travel to give 1/4” lift) unless it is the angle of the shock in relation to the control arms creating that multiplication factor. I am by no means an expert and have not done my install yet so I may be way off.

Someone help me learn!

Would anyone know the length/height of the springs included with these? I can't find the information anywhere. I'm looking at ordering these with a 650+lb spring. Thanks in advance.

 

They use a standard 14" x 3" spring. The spring part number is the dimensions with the last number being the spring rate. See picture....

 

So I spoke with Dave over at eibach. Supper nice guy. I asked him if these would work on the 2nd Gen. He told me that these would not work. But he did say that eibach was looking into coming up with these for the 2nd gen. He also said that he was going to talk with engineering dept and would call me back. Which infact he did. What they told him was that they are trying to find a stock 2nd Gen to see if they would work or if they are going to have to redesign these for the 2nd Gens. So I don't know. I originally called to talk to Tanner but he was not available.

 

After thinking more about it it makes sense what you’re saying that you get more lift than the distance the threads move since the lower shock mount is inward from apex of the LCA. It forms an oblique, obtuse triangle. I imagine your finding of 1/16” collar lift to 1/4” wheel lift is probably right ( that would be 1:4 ratio I think). Sorry for doubting.

 

@mark@eibach confirmed with me back in November the coil-overs work with the 2nd gens. This is what he PM'd me.

"Yes, we haven't updated the part number yet, BUT confirmed they fit and I personally drove and confirmed ride quality was great! So if you want to jump on one of the last sets we have until the next round hits inventory, part number is E86-82-007-01-20".

My set is still on back order.

hey everyone.....so i believe that i'm settled on these coilovers and the matching rear shocks and a 1.25" rear spacer....265/70r17 ko2 on oem pro wheels.... would i need a front diff drop for this setup to hopefully avoid the needle bearing problem?....i already bought a carrier bearing drop kit to try and keep everything as straight as possible...

 

also, because these are adjustable, shouldn't i be able to adjust the ds front 1/4" higher to accommodate whatever "lean" may occur?
