it’s funny but true. The middle class are the ones that constantly get screwed. If you have nothing the govt gives you everything, and if you have everything the govt takes everything they can, but likely doesn’t make a dent in your assets. In the middle class, you make more and they take more until you give up on the system.

Yeah, it sucks. Not shit I can do about it. The debt isn't going anywhere but up, I'm 30, so my wife and I will be in the generation that still gets shit on and will through our lives. This is a 2060 solution now.

In the meantime you can get these sweet setups and run from your problems on some trails

Same. I keep trying to talk myself into some other route but all roads lead back here. All I can do is hope I can scrape enough change together to order.

I have thought about this for some time now but since this kit has the adjustability to move the lower control arm forward for better caster numbers, what about building a lower control arm that keeps all of the same dimensions as stock but moves the lower ball joint forward an inch or whatever the magic number is? So many companies make new UCAs that roll the caster back to get proper numbers but an LCA that incorporates the same idea will do the same but also keep the tire out of the body mount.

Really dig all the 2nd/3rd gen upgrades you guys are doing @81Trekker! Really making me consider building a 2nd gen now lol

The first part of my JDF order has arrived -- LCA Pivots + Integrated Skidplate (Steel) with zinc-coated hardware. Everything was very well packed, even UPSs rough handling didn't seem to damage it. It shipped in a 24x24x6 box, weighed about 75 lbs.

After opening the flaps, you can see everything is packaged nicely with padding and little room for movement.
The smaller box in there has all the hardware and instructions inside.

    T H I C C hardware
    [IMG][IMG]
Free deciduous hardwood included with purchase!

Overall, super well packed. Instruction pictures are dark and blurry but written instructions are super well written. Looking forward to the rest of it and install!

Just building a caster adjusted lower arms doesn’t solve all the other issues like weak OE tabs, stock alignment cams, lack of ground clearance and most importantly the LCA kit works with any existing kit. Forcing people to have to buy a new, specific lower arm doesn’t make sense. With this kit you aren’t married to anything and we all know taco guys change arms/kits more than their underwear

That is such a huge selling point for me and I'm sure many others. I can keep the investment I've made in TC uppers and lowers and still get all the benefits of the subassembly.

I will add my take on what JD Fab is doing. I see it has they are addressing the foundation of the front suspension and the short coming of the stock set up. Replacing the lower control arm mounts increases durability and adjustment capabilities. If you choose you can retain all the stock components and then build on to the LCA mounts as you need or choose to. You can put thousands of dollars into components but if they are hung off a foundation that just is not up to more than basic easy trails you will be constantly chasing problems. To top it off there prices are very reasonable and possibly lower than it should be for both parts and labor. I appreciate that and saying so I do hope they don't raise the cost.

I gotcha! Bravo on all the upgrades, really dig it. This stuff fits 4th gen 4runners too right? Or should be pretty close. Slide rack support assembly may not with the V8 since the oil filter sits pretty low...

I feel the same way. On par with current offerings but a much nicer product. For example, I didn't realize until I was ready to pull the trigger on the +2.25" LT that it pulls the same travel numbers as the popular +3.5" kits and it also moves the tire forward .875" which most kits don't do. Not to mention the CV pockets in the lowers as well, that's a cool feature.

    You do me a favor?

Take a front view pic of your truck on level ground? I want to get a visual of how much the JD 2.25" LT arms gain in ground clearance compared to other kits. See below for example. I'm sure @81Trekker has an idea but... you know... :worthless:

Speaking of pics, whenever the time comes I plan on installing the LT on only one side and taking a droop pic for comparison. LT vs EXT kings and also LT vs OEM for shits and giggles. Just because I’m curious.

Lets make sure that if we are going show pictures for comparison purposes lets make sure they are both 2wd or 4wd and of the same length arms.

Well considering that JD doesn't really offer the same length arms as their competitors and all of the kits can be used for 2wd or 4wd. It's gonna have some differences no matter what. Only difference would be if a 2wd guy was using aftermarket lift spindles.

Or not... because that's not what I'm looking for. If you want to take it that far you'll have to find a truck with the same size tires, etc and considering nobody else makes a 2.25" wide kit could make that difficult.
