eBay trex eyelids beware. Seller: vq5speed

Just wanted to give you guys a headsup. I bought the trex eyelid on eBay for about 45 shipped and received them in not so great condition. Not only were they somewhat wavy but they were both damaged with chipped edges on each side. The chips were only about 3-5 mm, but we had to take the time to fix all the imperfections which is un acceptable

I tried emailing him again and again of course with no response so decided to give you guys the headsup on what you might receive when you order this. I don't know if it was just my set, but maybe more can Chime in.

i bought a pair from the same guy and paint them my self. they came out smoother than a baby's butt really glossly. i install them about 2 weeks later to allow the paint to flash out. on first day in the sun the fiberglass start to debond. now you can see cloth weave though out the eye lid. i use to work on composites on ariplane for 14 years so it i know these are with cheap resin. the resin couldn't take heat from the sun for day! i should made a pair myself.

 

I've got some of them from him, mine seem fine after about 3 months on the truck....

 

I bought mine from him. Painted them myself. They have survived a +100° Texas summer with no problems. No complaints from me.

I bought a set from him and the only issue I had was me trying to paint them. I e-mailed him to change my order and he was responsive and helpful. Sorry to hear you aren't getting the same service but I've got no complaints with the seller.

 

do his eyelids work on 08s? listings are all 05-07. been looking at them. it's the only place I can find them on the web; that one dude on eBay. better place to get them?

 

Yes, they're the same headlights.

 

Lucky for all you guys! He still hasn't responded to my 4+ emails.. if he responded i would of never posted this

 

08's are the same headlinghts. This is the only person making them. The other option is to get them done using a vinyl decal at a sign shop.

 

Sorry for your ordeal. Had no probs with my purchase with him, but I know it does take him long to ship. Can't you file a complaint with Ebay to get this resolved with the seller?

 

How do you get them to stay on the headlight?
