    question about add-a-leafs,

How do they work (i can guess it's another leaf that gets added to the top or the bottom to stiffen the pack) and what would i be looking to do if i want a 2" lift in the rear?

Nice looking rack, all aluminum is pretty sweet too. I noticed they only have 4 crossbars as opposed to 5 with the other brands, not that it really matters unless you need the extra to distribute load.

but after usd conversion, shipping, taxes you're probably around the $1k mark.

You guessed it right! But skip on those and don’t waste money, a pair of icons is much better option and it’s one hour to install them on non rusty trucks.

just trying to understand this; AAL would help bend the existing leaf pack up a little higher so that would mean the rear is a bit stiffer/ bumpier.

With the Icons, i assume it's less screwing around and i just drop 2 sets of pins and slap it in without worries? Would i need new bushings as well if i go the icon route?
also how does lifting it work then? i guess it's by design that it'll get me some distance higher?

Regular rack has 5 crossbars and the Onyx has 6 I guess if you count the rear one.

You're right, I forgot to count the front one!

I'm curious though, What's the total weight of the rack?

    Basically yeah

theyre alright for the price, ive been running my mystery AAL’s for 2 years and they still get good flex and no squeaks

i have a set of dakars sitting on my garage floor waiting to go in though

AAL’s arent great but theyre better than lift blocks and cheaper than a whole pack

would have to look into it on icons, i know my dakars didnt come with bushings

look into new shackle hangers too while ur in there, the stock tacoma ones are weak just ask @tacoma16

“Buy once cry once.” Is expensive as fuck and the end result might not even be what you want anyways.
If i had my way my truck would be on tons and 37’s by now but ive decided thats not the route im going to take for this truck now.
Imo just get an alright setup you can afford thats proven to work (not blocks) then just keep upgrading the weak li ks whenever you can. There is no “perfect” setup everyones needs are different and everyones bums arent equally sensitive.

I'm just unaware of the full extend of the knowledge accumulated over the years long before i even had the truck (3 years in May) so i don't see every little itty bitty piece of problems that had happened. So looking at hangars is something entirely new and something i've not figured to look into before.

yeah i'm aware that everyone has different needs and what not, and i'm quite contempt with the idea that I don't wheel as hard as you guys (i've not yet done the rock crawl up at Ardbeg beach). But otherwise, that's the plan for the time being is as you said, upgrade whatever breaks/ fails as i go along. I'm not looking for bullet proof to crush Greens on a first try (as much as i would love that) i'm just going with what i think i might need for what i've done so far (the skids are worse for wear and are beaten right to hell, but a good thing meaning they are doing their jobs)

aww frick just realized i'm going to need to shim the tailshaft if i lift it the 2 inches arn't i? @Snail81 still have those extra shims on hand?
