Let us know if you do, I also have the intake manifold spacer in as well but haven't done my cams yet so would love to know if I should take it out when I do the cams

Will do. Its more for curiosity tbh. Ill do some before and after data logs. I lean to the side of MPGS > performance, so ill gladly sacrifice some performance for an mpg if its as simple as removing the intake mani spacer.

The came gears to increase VE which will increase mpg is sound, the manifold spacer creates a longer runner which creates more air head velocity which fills the cylinder more per stroke (as i understand it). Less air in (without the spacer) and a greater VE / longer burn with the cam gears SOUNDS like it should increase mpg, but who knows what it does in the real world with our bricks of tacomas.

It's solid in theory. Real world application is hard to say. I can't recommend for or against the spacer as I haven't run one and as of yet- nobody has data before and after the spacer with cam gears installed. Sounds like that might change soon though

I was getting 17 mpgs on 34.6 275/80/17 Goodyear MTRs on SCS Ray 10’s, 3.73 gears, heavy flywheel, cam gears, intake spacer and a JustDsm tune. In December I added 4.88’s and dropped to 13.5 mpgs. Probably a little to do with winter gas and now turning 2750 Rpms at 70 mph. I added headers a couple weeks ago and am getting 14.5 -15 now but haven’t had a chance to really get a good solid apples to apples average because of warming up the truck before taking off and not doing a lot of freeway driving like I normally do for work. I will say the truck runs killer and I have lots torque where I need it.

With 3.73 I was turning 2000-2100 Rpms. These 4.0’s sip gas around 2k. If I was 4.56 it probably would help a lot but I spend a fair amount of time in he hills and Mts.

Same. I remember installing my manifold spacer and not really noticing a big difference in any one aspect. Always curious to see data numbers from someone other than a manufacturer.

Gio had me in and out in 4 hours not counting our rain photo shoot. I think that’s probably where he’s at plus or minus 15 or so. Once he gets the torque specs memorized he’ll be faster haha.

@Mista_G hit it right on the nail. I’m down to about 4hrs at a somewhat casual pace

Send me a private message, price slightly varies depending on what we change during the job (seals, spark plugs, etc)

The stories were slowing us down a bit too:rofl:
