Is this done at the dealer? If from the factory is it typically winter or summer blend?

I’ve got a new 2021 and we are getting a hard freeze in North Houston that we haven’t seen in decades, wanted to know if I needed to drain OEM and put in some winter blend and cycle it through

Factory fill should be winter blend. If you want to be sure, siphon a small sample and put it in the freezer.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
At least supplement what's in the reservoir with some fluid of a lower freeze temp.

Just add in some washer fluid with a lower freezing point and you'll be good to go, or park it warm so it melts, use a bit of it and refill with some new fluid

Rubbing alcohol works good to keep it from freezing at any temp. Cleans road grim off also

In Houston......I wouldn't sweat it too much.

IIRC, the blue stuff has a freeze point near 0F.

Personally, living in IA, I always buy the stuff rated for -25F all year.

    This and that...
Just throw some of this in there. If there is ice on the windshield you can just light a match. Works like a charm.

Hmm....how do you get that into the washer bottle?

I use a body filter first and enjoy to the process of filtering.

There'd probably be enough ABV left over to still do the trick..

dealer stuff is usually not very potent. The stuff we had at Chrysler would freeze in anything under -20.

That being said i doubt houston sees negative numbers anyways so your probably fine

    ^ yes

It wasn't freezing up but the blue kool-aid seemed to not melt slush/ice on the windshield well at <10F this week. I just cut a 3' length of tube and siphoned off literally a gallon which was most of it. Ran washers about 30s and could smell the rainX fluid.

I can tell you some of the washer fluid i bout in central quebec during the winter could pass for 160 proof moonshine with some coloring added.
