You are aware of that the OEM bumper caps are made of plastic and not steel? Unless you have aftermarket ones.

 

Yup, I’ll prep it some and hope the paint sticks. I know painting that stuff can be a pain sometimes.

Dang, looked at this cabin last year when it was for sale. Always kicked myself for missing out but I couldn’t swing it without septic. now I’m moving to Charleston so probably shouldn’t as I’d never get to use it but it is an awesome little cabin! Way roomier than I expected.

Well, went to go on a trip today in the truck and the battery was completely dead. It got down to about 20 degrees last night so i should have known this might happen. Just had the truck out and running 3 days ago.

Went to jump it, emptied two jump packs instantly. So its clear to me that the cold made this battery drop a cell. Same thing happened back in april. Autozone replaced the battery for nothing. Now 10 months later the same thing happens.



So, no more Autozone Duralast batteries for me.


I never had trouble with the advanced auto batteries that I ran before trying this autozone one.


TLDR: I need a new battery for the truck, any suggestions?

 

I prefer Interstate, but I almost always end up with Napa. I have bought some things with OLD Interstate batteries that are still kicking.

 

I used plastidip. Lasted 3 years no problem.

 

no personal experience with them, but i believe that was the battery brand that my brother melted down on the interstate one night running some old KC hi lites. Still worked...until the next morning

 

The Diehards have pretty good reviews and not priced bad at all. I was running a Diehard AGM.

 

I had considered this but I already have a few cans of the bedliner and think that might look pretty good too. Or it won’t and my wife will just glare and roll her eyes. She say the chrome caps look good...

I run a yellow top, bit more expensive but has a long warranty and I’ve never had a problem

 

at home I wiped it with acetone and then self etching primer and the rust-oleum bed liner and it turned out pretty decent.

Got some snow up here. My old 4runner & worn out Duratracs did a amazing job getting us here last night. Incline roads weren't a issue, but the decline roads I had to put it in 4Lo and slowly crawl.

 

Imo $40k is a steal. A nice new camper will cost that much (and more) then quickly depreciate in value. Property will only go up in value. With the pandemic, riots & unrest goin on these days these remote mountain properties have went up in value the past year or so.

 

I only run Interstate Mega Tron PLUS. And on that note the MTP in my Landcruiser was dead this morning lol. But that's because I let it sit too much and when i do drive it it's just short trips here around the property. I need to drive it on more long trips.
