I'm newish to the non-OEM tire game and am curious what others would do in the situation below. I live in Nebraska so driving is mostly on pavement, and I'll need to put in 6+ hrs to get to any legitimate off-road conditions. I will be on a 3 week CO/UT overland trip in late May/early June.

Option A: For $700, purchase Falken Wildpeak M/Ts with ~10k miles on them from a friend who's up-sizing his Jeep Gladiator tires. Includes five tires for a full-size spare.

Option B: For $1,350, purchase five new BFG KO2's.

Edit: I'll add in my friend just purchased his Gladiator new from Arizona so the Wildpeak M/T miles are 100% highway miles.

Id say ko2’s are overpriced in general and the falken mt’s are sweet
$700, lot of life left on em
Id say Falkens, saving money and getting an awesome tire

edit: i just read u wont be off roading. In that case, id suggest new falken wildpeak at3w’s in SL, theyre lightweight, look aggressive and are affordable

no point in slapping, heavy, loud, MT’s on there if u wont be wheeling

can get 265/75 (assuming thats the size u want) from walmart with free shipping for $164 ea

I’ll vote A as well, but KO2s > Falken if buying both new.

Everyone has their own opinion, but that is mine as well. That's the reason I was going back and forth.

I picked up 5 285 70 17 KO2s from a 2020 Rubicon up here with low miles, its a good way to get some tires for cheap!
