Yeah, why's that? Upset that Florida is still a free state? Lol

Initially I was scrutinizing the comparison of chili/chile. Now the free state comment has completely thrown me off.

Maybe I misinterpreted lol, I get so much shit for being from florida, I thought that's why you were posting that you clipped what I saidfigured that's what it was about, my bad? Maybe? Haha

Also, I'm not the biggest fan of this green chili everyone is so obsessed with. I mean it's fine but its nothing to hype up the way people did when I moved here.

I just associate chili with western culture. Or southwestern. But never Florida. Hell, even Midwest has some chili you can tip your hat to. Florida?

Bet, how about a dip that includes chili??

Chopped green onions, throw in some cayenne pepper and other seasonings in a bowl with cream cheese and mix it all up. Spread that at the bottom of a glass bowl, layer some cheese on top of that, pour your chili over top, more cheese on that, whatever garnishes you want on top bake it at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes and enjoy with chips.

Chili, to southerners (which some would suggest FL is part of) is red and is a meal, not a topping.

Idk man, we've got a pretty good melting pot of people in most of florida and have for long enough that we've got some amazing food of all kinds. From my experience, we usually end up with the best of each type of food. From barbecue to Mexican food to Italian food we have everything and it's all pretty good. I've been all over the country and the best food that I've had everywhere we pretty much have in Florida as well. Although, I don't know that we have too much food that is truly our own like much of the rest of the country has.

Oh fk yeah, we used to stop at this one place on the side of the road to get our boiled peanuts on the way to the beach when we go on the weekends when I was a kid. It was awesome, and it was pretty funny watching the dude grow his business over the years. He pretty much started with a beat-up old truck on the north side of Jacksonville on the side of the road and ended up with a pretty nice new Ford super duty and covered trailer by the time I was old enough to stop there myself

I did the tourist escapade in Florida once. Chili just never seemed a meal for me down there. I do agree that chili is red a meal intended to last a family a week, and not some green condement bull shit. I just need you gents to convince me that chili comes from Florida. Or that Florida is southern culture. I feel like it is it's own culture in and of itself. The republic of....
