Man you are giving these away at that price! Kudos to you my friend.

Wish I had this option earlier last year when I did up my third brake light.

After attempting to source individual male/female connectors to make a plug'n play myself, I ended up buying a plug'n play trailer wiring harness just to use the brake light wiring out of it. It works just like your kit does, but still cost me $90 with shipping.

Again, kudos to you for making these for the next guy.

It probably won't but looking at the Tundra part diagrams I would buy the factory harness on the side you want to tap and splice that:
    Passenger side: 81555-0C070
    Drivers side: 81565-0C070

I did something similar when I tapped the bed lights of my tacoma. Bought the small harness (~$20 from Toyota) and modified that. I can plug in the original harness if I want to reverse the change.

Thanks! The shipping is the killer on these, so buying in bulk helps pass the savings on. Plus, I did start by literally giving them away, so it's nice to make a little off each one. Help pay for my next experiment at least :D

Is this just for the brake light? Do the wires get a reduced voltage if you have the running light / sidemarker lights on?

Yes, as designed it is just for the brake light. There shouldn’t be a reduction of voltage as long as your third brake light is reasonable and drawing down the whole system. This particular plug can also be made to have a tap for the running lights too if you wanted something like that.

This one will not. However, I am fairly certain the Tundra takes the same connector as the 2nd gens. If you’d be willing to do a little testing for me (you’ll need a voltmeter or a test light is all) and shipping the tester back, I’d be willing to make you one for your trouble if it turns out I am assuming correctly.

If you need taps for all the lights curt sells an inline hitch plug adapter that you can use without having to cut the factory wiring
