northern florida and the panhandle is pretty much southern georgia/alabama so i would say that part has southern culture

Kind of a Florida Man story of my own that I feel like anyone would do though, I was driving home with buddies one night and saw a massive RV on the side of the road that was spray painted "free please take all", I slammed on the brakes basically waking both my buddies up, busted a u-turn went back we hooked up our snatch strap to it and dragged this thing like 20 miles to the place we always went off-roading it had no lights no motor no transmission no brakes and the steering was terrible. I was pulling it with a 20 foot strap and they almost ran into me about a dozen times they were in and out of the ditch and one of the dudes was sitting on the back of it with a flashlight shining it at people behind us and at the ground so that they would know that we were there because there were no rear lights. we didn't get going faster than like 30 miles an hour but still, he was definitely sitting on top of a class a motorhome making sure we didn't get rear-ended in the middle of the night. the next day when we got out to where we had left it by the bonfire, someone was setting it on fire over the fire pit. clearly, in Florida we don't worry about brush fire or wildfires the way we have to out here. But it got so big we all had to leave because the fire department come out, by the time they got there it was already burned down to the frame. As always, we scrapped our trash and there was never any sign of it again

Also, almost any rural area is country/ southern in florida, and signs of it in most big cities too. But we also have a town names Yeehaw junction In south florida

I have spent lots of time in north Florida and southwest florida. There are definitely rural spots that are bad ass and not typical of "Florida"

 

I'm from a town of 800 people and you guys are spittin some meemaw peepaw shit that is otherworldly right now.

Yeah I definitely don't claim that it comes from Florida, and boiled peanuts are Georgia. grew up in. I grew up with mud trucks and muscle cars, fried chicken, sweet tea, guns, and family. There's definitely a ton of Florida that is not southern, but the vast majority of it is. Now, having said that, know where that you're going to be a tourist in Florida is going to seam southern.
