Felt the same about the $ before buying the Pros, but absolutely glad I did the first time driving in inclement weather.

Just ordered the sports I am sure they are good enough for what I do. Nothing compares to my clear waters on my other ride

A lot of motorcycle guys I've talked to seem to have quite the hard on for those. Imma need to buy a set and see what I think. Based on what I am seeing it is just a hilarious amount of foreground light... But I will know soon enough!

Just depends which lights you get and the lenses you choose to use. It is night and day difference with them on. Its like I am a sun rolling down the highway in the middle of the day and at night I am like a supernova in the back roads. The lights are fully adjustable as far as intensity during the day and night. With almost full power during the day and almost half at night as to not be too absurd. But it is fully programable to be able to adjust to your lighting needs. I received them as a gift and wouldn't have purchased them because of their high price I would have gone with another brand but who am I to turn that down. The different models have very different light outputs kind of like the stuff you offer from the sport to pro etc. As well as the different lenses for what youre trying to accomplish

Not really my market (yet anyway), but cool tech is cool tech! I'll give em a look. Now just to see how you feel about these SS3s , and you rolled with the entry-level which is still a marked upgrade over stock!

Yeah, my main goal was the look aka the light color and then a little extra output is fine with me. Im not doing any crazy stuff like on the bike where its see and be seen as the utmost importance.

Swapping my morrimoto LEDs for some Phillip H9s today. Amazon had them for 9.50ish, though the pictures on the site say China made in Germany were delivered. My only real complaint was the fan noise of the LEDs, though I’m sure I’ll notice a major difference considering the research posted here.

You could hear the fan noise over the motor while driving?

I assume in the fog lights youre or he is referring to since you didn't quote anyone and I am the one who posted them most recently

You mean he didn't quote anyone? Yes, I just followed your post and quoted you. Not all LEDs are meant to be put in fog lights, the intention isn't for a bright ass bulb when it comes to fogs, color and direction are important

Idling I could hear them 100% anything over 5mph it would go away. Still a little annoying.

I don't use fog lights for fog...

I live in the country... Lots of long roads with speed limits of 60-65mph, no stores, no lights, woods on both sides of the road and LOTS of deer and other wildlife. The fogs tend to shine to the sides more and help watch for animals running out.

Figured I should share here as well... But not all 2021 TRD offroads come with LED fogs. Mine has regular bulbs.

OK, I spent some time this afternoon/evening straightening out my misunderstandings.

Gone are the Hikaris. I put the OEM Philips H9 in the low beams (which seemed to require trimming the metal tabs) with an extension harness. I left the Hella H9s in the high beams. I put the GE +130 H11s in the fogs - wow, what a difference!

All the tab-trimming was a nuisance, one of the fogs was really reluctant to cooperate, and it took quite a number of rounds of trial and error to get the bulb to seat properly. It would have been easier with the housing on the bench, but if I was going to remove the housing, I'd just do an upgrade :)

    Thanks again.

No, replacement LEDs should not be used in the fog lights. That will result in excessive glare and poor lighting performance. Instead you should look at the SAE fog thread, specifically the Diode Dynamics SS3s linked at the top of the thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-led-sae-j583-fog-pod-fog-light-review.554813/

Interestingly, some Rav4s use 65w high beam bulbs in the low beam. But yes, bulb life will be drastically reduced by doing so. But that is exceptionally rare, typically manufactures choose a long life bulb so consumers don't have to be inconvenienced with bulb changes, and in a single filament bulb that often means an H11.

No electrical issues or heat issues with running an H9 in place of an H11. The only trimming that is required is the internal plastic tab, though trimming the external metal one does make installation easier though it is not required with the Philips bulbs.

Note that the Xenon bulbs focus their light intensity at maximum distance light. So you will not experience a significant increase in near pattern light intensity, but they should project significantly further down range than stock.

Assuming your Morimotos were the outgoing 2stroke 2.0s? If so you should find a significant increase in distance projection after the swap. Less foreground light, which can be tricky to get over and comprehend, but you should easily be able to see further.

Your fogs were difficult because they are not an H11 lamp. They are H16. You need a TRD truck to have the wide-angle H11 fogs, otherwise your SR5 takes the standard H16 fogs. An H11 can sometimes be made to fit in place of an H16, but it would be better to get the appropriate assembly to run H11s.

you shouldn't have had to trim anything for the fogs, unless you have the H16 housings.
check the bulbs you took out to confirm
I'm unsure if the H16 housing or wiring is up to the task of an H11 bulb.

Yup, the OEM bulbs that I removed were H16.

    Guess I'll find out!
