I love my long bed. But really, don't you think it should be called a mid bed, and save the term long bed for an eight footer?

I don't think so because there are no 8' beds on mid size trucks. I could be wrong, but I only know of 8' beds on full size trucks.

The first generation Dodge Dakota was in some years offered with an 8 foot bed.

Had it done at a local shop, it’s matte black with a matte grey hood scoop. Eliminated that hood glare.

@NukedTaco damn man, what's in the bed? That said, wife, dogs & myself went on a 5d/4n camping/biking trip and I had my bed w/ cap completely full and had to throw thr cargo box on the roof to fit the last of things. Though firewood took up ⅓+ of the bed.

That picture was from a 10 day trip with my wife and two year old in late November. Firewood took up about 1/3 of the bed and the hitch carrier was for blankets and pillows(Temps were in the 20’s). That trip was the reason I switched from the bakflip cover to a softopper. I had items like a cooler/bins that wouldnt allow the cover to close and would’ve filled the bed with water and dust during the trip.

@NukedTaco gotcha. Fought that fight too. Totes were either too tall or fit & left just enough wasted space above them to be essentially unuseful.

how much fuel mpg did you drop? I have a cab rack I’m pondering putting my tent on to replace my bedrack with a softopper. Space is primo with a wife and kids!
