    Good Saturday Morning folks.
Quite a few of you have been busy with projects:thumbsup:. Hope those with any health issues get well fast .
Hi Sue, my DIL got the Pfizer shot. She works for a hospital so she had to get it. What irked me was the fact that the hospital requires every employee to get the covid shot but if you have a reaction to it like she had, you have to use your own sick day if you can't make it into work. I guess they do that because of the people that would abuse the system:facepalm:.

When I was driving for the dealership, I was on I 81 and a guy was right on my bumper at 85 mph. We were coming down a hill with a curve( now almost doing 90) when I see a State cop on the side. As we go past him, I see his lights go on and he only pulled over the guy on my bumper. I am sure he got a major ticket as the speed limit was 70 and he was right on my bumper(could have been considered reckless driving). I slowed down after that :amen:. Cops have the option of who they stop. Just hope it's not you that they pick. Safety in numbers doesn't always applyo_O.

Have a good day folks and be safe.

The company called me back yesterday and said a new table top will be shipped out. I asked for notification of the ship date.

I ordered this thru Amazon, they had the best price, and the manufacture wants all warranty, claims, and installation help to go thru them. We need an office chair so I will go buy it locally.

Anyone have a recommendation for an office type chair? Price range is $250 to $300 or should I be looking for a higher priced chair? The chair should be comfortable and no arms, that is all I ask.

Have a great weekend ladies and gents.

    Mornin' all...
I just discovered this thread, so nice to know everyone isn't still in diapers.

I've read several of your posts on the last page and the theme seems to be Covid and the vaccines.

My son deals cards in Deadwood SD and he's had it. My nephew was also possitive after mentioning that he couldn't smell something terrible that everyone else at his work could smell. Son had a really bad headache and some congestion, nephew nothing but the loss of scent.

My doctor, one of my few friends where I live, died about a month ago after being in the hospital for three weeks, two weeks on a ventilator. Apparently he requested removal of the machinery and he passed in minutes.

Vaccinations are pretty spotty in Utah. We got on the list before there was a list. In fact we instigated the list around here, insisting that they start one. So we've been on the top of the list forever, but vaccines are only going to those over seventy so far. Our county is only getting about a hundred fifty or so doses a week and there are a couple of thousand people ahead of us that haven't gotten their shots yet.

It's been like one very long winter this year as we isolate. In the last year we haven't eaten in a restaurant or gotten our hair cut. We are both rockin' the hippy look and have decided it works fine for us. I bought a guitar and have been trying to learn from lessons on youtube, and it goes sloooooowly. But we get along well and laugh alot and get out to hike as much as possible. We are wearing out our dominos as we play train every day.

In any case we wish all of you well and hope to contribute...

    Be well.

I've seen packs of cars pulled over at the same time on 91 in Vermont.
Statie with the zap gun just points and they pull over. Couple of chase cars nearby seal the deal.

    Great story to tell.
Cranking down the pike about 80 on the bike with a pack of cars. I was last in line.
Now 3 bridges down I see something on the bridge. Now being the wise man I am
I backed off cause 80 on a Sportster is not the most comfortable ride.
So I get to that bridge and sure enough a trooper pops up like a sniper and “ shoots us all”.
1/2 mile down there is a state trooper in the road and 5 more in trooper cars in the breakdown lane.
Pulls everyone over and I get to him and I put my right harm up in a questioning pose. He waves me by.
So they allow a little over here, but most of them slowed down, I slowed a little more. So I guess the speed limit indicated and the gun had to match on that day.
It was still a great day for a ride..

Welcome to the porch Travlr. Pull up a chair and enjoy the posts. We have folks from across the country with a myriad of discussion topics from health and wellness, hunting ,fishing, cars, trucks, home repairs,, weather, and food (cooking)and anything else that comes to mind except politics and anything sexually explicit(mods frown on them). But enough other topics to keep us old timers interested:D. Enjoy.

Yeah... I'm so done with politics I'd move alone to a desert island and sink the boat I arrived on if I could survive. I've noticed the abscence here and it's great. It's nce to have some meaningful conversations with people about other subjects. Some on your list I will be a listener, some I may contribute. Thanks for the welcome.

Yeah, I've had the bag off for quite a while. Very rare to see anyone else with their bag removed. But... enough of that.

    Good morning all,

Taking a driving course the next two days virtually to remove the points. Paid the ticket online, still pissed off on what he said. Yes, I was speeding - my bad wasn't paying attention to the area - four lanes with turn lane in the middle (five total) and I was in the right lane as cars were passing me.. Oh well, need to get over it...

Cold is rolling in with new snow expected, fire in the wood stove, dogs in the pen to work off some energy and I am finishing up some work for a friend (CAD layout for an event) as the facility and health department keep changing their minds on adequate spacing.

Have a great day, stay warm - welcome Travir - great bunch of old folks here :rofl::rofl:

What do they teach you in that “driving course”.
How to let the computers drive the car for you?

Welcome new porch guy. Great group of people here, diverse backgrounds and diverse topics. You’ll enjoy our group of immature seniors.
Speaking of tickets , my last moving violation (speeding) was 1989.The one before that was 1986. That as fun. I was going through divorce and to cheer myself up I bought a new sports car, which I drove too fast. While driving up highway 5 from Los Angeles to home in Northern California I passed a Porsche who didn’t want to be passed. The race was on. I’d pass him, he’d pass me at high speed. Suddenly way back in my rear view mirror I saw the lights of the highway patrol car. He was doing over 100 to catch us. I backed off the gas, the Porsche didn’t see him and kept accelerating. He pulled us both over. Highway 5 is flat and straight as an arrow for a thousand miles. Where we were was wide open simi desert and farm country, no place for the patrol to hide. I asked him how he caught us. He pointed up in the sky at an airplane. Told me it was a CHP plane that clocked us. The plane radios the closest patrol car and they send a chase car out. California has signs on some lonely stretches of highway that says Patrolled By Aircraft. I never believed it until that day. Got a break that day. He wrote us for 85mph. Said if he would have wrote up for over 90 it was reckless driving and he would have had to arrest us. I’ve been a pretty good boy since those days.

Not sure - just started it - I will let you know, so far nothing that I already didn't know. I looked up the last time I got a speeding ticket - 1983.. I do drive 5 over most of the time and push a little out here in never-never land at times but not excessive by any means. Wrong place wrong time, mind was on CT Cardio Scan I was headed to - it was my fault.

    Oh I know..
Mine was around that time also.

quite the eye opener on a stat.

when I got new insurance ,back then, they looked at my driving record the guy made a comment.
He said ( paraphrasing) that my driving record was unusual where as mechanics (sick) usually
    have bad driving records.
    So I was profiled.... lol..
