So I should take it apart, clean it, and put it back together again?

Could really be anything that moves, open the driver door and have someone bounce up and down on the door sill while you listen

I agree it could be anything. My deltas have never squeaked and I don’t have the cover on. My icon cos did squeak for about the first year or so. Same deal it would temporarily go away when it rained. I just hit them with some lube and it’d go away for a while.

I've had the same issue. Thought it was the Rad mount bushings at first (check those if you haven't already) so replaced and it didn't fix it.
Just took it to a local mechanic and and said its both of my shocks (Fox 2.5 Coilovers with remote resi) and that they would need a rebuild.
Taking them to another local place that does rebuilds on Monday. Total after tax $334. I'll keep you posted if that fixes it.

My truck makes a metal on metal sounding squeak, it’s very loud. Is that what yours sounded like?

Yeah its obnoxiously loud. Its a hardcore creak that sounds like those rusted springs on playground horses lol (see pic below) but yeah its definitely not a little squeak or anything. Here's a link to a video of what it sounds like though

Have you checked the ball joints? Does it also make the sound when you turn the steering wheel?

Yea, it sounds exactly like that video. I’m not sure if that’s it, there is no obvious scratches on the bottom of the shock. I checked the delta joints. I made sure they’re full of grease.

shop asked me to remove my shocks and bring in by themselves. Which i tried doing last night but couldn't get the lower bolt lose to loosen :annoyed:
but upon inspection the spacer is rust to shit and when i lower the truck slowly you can hear and feel the springs creaking just like that sound
gonna call the shop see if i can take the entire truck in a leave it there till its fixed

I just went back and looked at your first pic again.. I still think you have a ton of pre-load, but cant say for sure if thats causing an issue.

But I also noticed that rub mark on the hose just under the fitting of the remote resi. Is that from you or is something else rubbing there? Looks like something might have been rubbing there for a while. In which case I wonder if the shock hasnt leaked? If you have access to a pressure gauge that goes up to 250-300 psi you could check the pressure in that resi

I think that’s from me. Nothing is leaking from it. I only have 2 inches of threads above the adjuster nut. Icon says not to go over 2.1 inches. It still rides nice. I’ve had the squeaking before I adjusted it

If I’m not mistaken they are. The larger spacers should facing the front to give the sway bar more room. That’s my understanding of it.

Also, getting the truck back today and the bearing was shot on my passenger side lower shock eyelet. Like I mentioned before they were going to rebuild the whole thing either way but it turns out it was the bearing itself. I’ve had them for 5 years 70+k miles on then and never serviced or really maintained so the rebuild will be nice.

From my experience in researching this problem and trying to solve it is this:
•Don’t WD-40 anything down there. It attracts dirt and will do more harm than good
•Silicone lubricant is ok to use on bushings if they’re needing a little love
•Try and clean suspension every so often and to keep gunk from corroding suspensions parts

One last piece of advice/suggestion to figure out your squeak is get some orange cleaner and spray the lower shock eyelet where the bolt goes through it. Let is sit for a few and wash it off. Open the door and try to o the sound by pulling down on the “oh shit” handle. If that sounds goes away or is a little better.. boom. You found your culprit.

good luck with it man I know how frustrating and annoying it is
