Black steering wheel badge. One step closer to getting rid of all of the chrome. The last piece now is the rear bumper

Took photos comparing a before and after adding auxiliary reverse lights. Camera exposure locked at T 3.1, 1/60th shutter, 1600iso. Both photos were taken at 10m or 33' 9" from the house. 10 meters is a standard measurement distance that lighting products are measured at.

I'm sorry the first photo sucks and you cant see the beam on the ground, these lights kind of suck.

Respond if you have any questions or want to know how to wire up some reverse lights!

This photo was not taken at the same camera settings, it's for a color temperature comparison and shows positioning of the lights.

    Finally decided to get 33s!
Now to trim fender, chop cab mount. I noticed immediately how badly I'll need to re-gear, but silver lining is the noise reduction from my old duratracs. Hope these ATX's will perform on the trail

My RevTek diff drop kit arrived. Hopefully it gets installed this week.

What's the torque spec on the 2 large bolts? It came with more bolts and spacers than what the instructions mention, are they for the skid plate?

Regular old TRD faux beadlocks. Black plastidip on the rings and they didnt put the center cap back on yet.

I wish the TRD wasnt in red letters on the center cap and the cap wasnt shiny

Ultra gauge MX 1.4. I just now calibrated the distance to account for the larger wheels and tires. The oil miles will get zeroed again when I change it soon. The transmission code had to be modified in the unit for it to work, which Ultra gauge has that code available. I have a Spiker Industries A-Pillar mount on the way too.

Torque spec is 101ft/lbs for those two diff mounting bolts. If you reinstall them like the factory from bottom up it can be difficult if not impossible to get a torque wrench up there. I usually just add a little blue loctite to the nuts and torque from the bolt head, no issues yet. Also, what I usually do when working on the truck is have the thread linked below open on the laptop sitting on the workbench so I can quickly find any torque specs I need.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-torque-spec-guide.318116/

Edit: not sure what the extra spacers are for but the theory of them being for the skid/splash shield sounds about right

Edit to the edit: found this right now, hope it helps

I'm getting grooves worn in the inner CV boot. It's only a matter of time before they tear. I will not be replacing boots every 6 months.

While reading that post I was thinking "how hard did he send it?"
I'll also be using RCI skid plates and I do light off-roading.
