No worries, I was confused about this when i ordered mine. My dealer confirmed the tailgate locks with the key, and when building a tacoma on the toyota website it lists "Remote Tailgate Lock $269" and "Remote Tailgate Lock $169". The $169 is without dealer installation

I’m glad they have them but part of me feels the pros should come with remote unlock installed. I’m in a 2nd gen so a locking tailgate is the holy grail to me. I tried pop n lock but was not impressed.

Does the install require hard wiring? What did you decide your your pro?

I'm not sure what goes into the install, I imagine some wiring has to go into it. I haven't gotten confirmation on my build yet, but I requested a PRO in Lunar Rock AT. Don't really want any add-ons since I can do them myself, but some nice to haves would be the remote tailgate lock, door sill protectors, and a bed light kit. Again those aren't deal breakers. I just don't want a lot of the extras the dealers tend to add on- like the TRD oil cap (thats just silly) or the tube steps (I'm getting sliders)

Completely agree. You prioritize the important utility feature vs the aesthetic. Bed lights are quite nice. Hopefully you get your lunar sooner than later. That color has really grown on me.

Cavalry blue was my favorite, I've been kicking myself for never getting one, til I saw the LR and glad I waited! I'm just hoping it gets here before camping season

I think it was an option that wasn't installed on this one. It was simple enough to install though. Only took about 40 minutes.

So I just ordered some Billie Bars for the future tent I need to purchase. These things seem super strong and will work with the Tonneau cover I put on (Bakflip MX4). Any suggestions on Rooftop Tent? I know there are like hundreds to choose from, but I just want something simple that has a hard shell.

It was $650 and then I got the XPEL clear wrap on the bumper, headlights, half hood, door edges, fenders, mirrors and door cups... that was another $800. Expensive, but the stuff works.

Dang that sounds like a pretty good deal all around. Best quote I've gotten so far is 1550 for the front XPEL and 1250 for ceramic coating...

I'm all the way on the other side in Florida lol. Quick question since you essentially got the same truck I'll be getting. What small stuff does the Pro come with standard that I should pay attention to? Like First Aid Kit, Floor Mats etc... I've read a few posts where people said stuff was missing at delivery

Thanks for the mention on them. I forget if I found them on my own. Checks most of my boxes except I’d really prefer a cab roof height option and complete stealth when removed. I keep thinking an integrated tonneau rail with T slot for adjustable height rack towers makes tons of sense but don’t see the product I’d want available.
