Hey guys. Happy Sunday! Man what a week it’s been for me! We’ve been remodeling our master bathroom since Jan 4th, and had to use the basement bathroom for all necessities. It really sucked going down 2 flights of stairs to take a shower, walk back up 2 flights to get dressed and all that. Reminded me of my deployments where I had to walk some 400 yards to the bathroom-minus the RPGs and shooting obviously. The inauguration happening, and then trying to find ammo ( probably like some of you). So today I’m parked in front of the TV watching the playoffs to see who goes to the Super Bowl. My Saints are out, but still Tom Brady is a huge playmaker. I’d love to see him and Mahomes meet up.

 

Ha! We just finished remodeling our kitchen. Even though we didn't do the actual work ourselves, it was a nightmare.

And..... My mom is in the hospital. She's 87 years old and has been diagnosed with pneumonia. When an 87 year old person gets pneumonia it usually doesn't end well.

Well it looks like we got lucky. She is supposed to be discharged today. I'm driving up for the day to help my dad out.

I need some help here, folks. I had to replace the Third Brake Light unit in my camper shell. Now I need to connect it to the tail light unit so it lights up when I step on the brake pedal.

I have these kind of lights. When the head lights or DTR light are on, the LEDs light up in a circle. When I step on the brakes, the LED circle lights up even brighter.

So can someone tell me which of the three wires going into the rail/brake light socket is the one that makes the LEDs get brighter? (This is on the Driver's side). That's the one I need to connect to for the Third Brake Light.

White/Black is ground. Green/Red is brake. Green/Yellow is "running" lights.

Green/Red is what you'll need to use if only looking for brake light function. Will likely needed to be grounded too unless the third brake light is self-grounding.

I don't remember from when I installed my shell, but does the third brake light need to "run" like the other tail lights?

 

The 3rd brake just needs to tie into/tap the oe brake wire.

I don't think there is any code in VA requiring 3rd brake having a running light requirement.

 

I don’t know, hang on let me ask a lawyer.

Thanks, everyone. Actually, I ended up tapping into the Blue wire on the harness that runs down to the 7-pin Trailer Plug. That did the trick.

 

And she passed inspection with Flying Colors.
