    Hi TW team --

Sorry if this has been answered already. The little tab that is used to bolt the driver's side marker light onto my frame on my first gen has snapped off. Right now the light is still staying in place with friction and a bit of duct tape but I'm trying to figure out a way to 'install' the light more securely. I'd hate to replace the light just because of the tab.

I was thinking about zip ties or something, but can't find a spot on the light to connect to.

Has this happened to anyone? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks all!

Make one that fits over the oblong on the headlamp. Find some good plastic. Then JB weld it up. Paint of you want.

I had one broken off and it just stayed in place for years.

but if it happened again, that’s what I would do. You could probably buy a new lamp for $20 online

not just regular jb weld but a plastic specific jb weld, ive had good results with this. even better would be to plastic weld with a melting tip on your solder iron. google it

I’d smooth out the break on the marker lamp and go for it. You can do this!!

Form a new tab by mixing baking soda and super glue then drill a new hole for screw.

putty style epoxy then drill a new hole. maybe use a thin piece of plastic sandwiched between in case it ever breaks.

TY! IF I can't figure it out more simply I'll just pull the trigger on a replacement. But I'll give soldering/baking soda (ha, who knew?) a go first. Thanks for coming thru.

Had the same problem, so I ordered 2 new ones and replaced both of them with new. Easy-peazy, only $25.00, and fixed right!Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 8.06.02 AM.jpg

i've used this Bondic LED Plastic welding kit with success for small plastic items my wife broke in our house. I don't see how it wouldn't work on the light tab. JB Weld would probably work as well.

When I broke a tab on my corner lights, it still stayed in place, but was always a little crooked. That drove me crazy so I bought the cheap new ones on Amazon posted above and they have worked perfect for years.

Plastic epoxy works great, I've used it on similar stuff before. Good luck

Exactly I've replaced mine on both of my first gens with after markets from ebay , they are very inexpensive and look oem. Youll have a choice of chrome trim or black trim.

Use the suggested bandaids as temporary patches.

But seriously, <$25 to fix it right???? Cripes, an oil/filter change costs nearly $25 as a DIY task.

You know the ol' saying. "Fix it right. Fix it once."
