That’s what I’m seeing, my neighbors experiment has failed. I put styrofoam covers on my three. I just added fiberglass insulation inside the cover, then wrapped them with a towel and a plastic bag. I tested them first, one is already frozen.

 

I think tanked ones are better. I stopped putting tankless ones outside after a freeze a couple years ago.

 

I have a couple sharkbite caps and a heat gun. But more importantly, I have 30 beers.

 

I trickle water down the sewer. Some Froze up last couple years & May thaw around June.

 

My tub drained really slow this morning, the septic line to the tank is not very deep. The pump tank will freeze if it sits to long. We don’t build for this, thinking we should. :-/

 

Nobody is at the coop site. They were supposed to turn the water pump off and leave the faucets open, they did not. The tank pipes are heated, but not beyond the tank. The road is closed on the way out there.
