Ya your correct I was portable when I lived in east Texas but here in north Texas where I’m at now there is no flooding and such.

Most of that is with the power companies, they require transfer switch and approval from an engineer/master electrician

Sound advice, but I am far removed from any water threat. No trees anymore in my yard, or where they could compromise my location. Otherwise, I would agree totally.
BTW, when you move to Beeville, I can move to your place for $10 rent? Is very nice!

Yes we get tornadoes around us. But they take everything. I have portable generators at the farm if needed. Just like to have something permanent that the wife doesn’t have to worry about when I’m gone to work

    Do you have a celler/bunker?
I would want a tornado shelter prior to having a fixed backup power unit.

    Everyone's coin/situation/risk is different.
Look at all possible scenarios/natural disasters.

Not really in Tornado alley either.
Make the family safe in "normal" emergencies.
Run like hell if need be.
Not living like I'm doomed, despite the current events.

    Welcome aboard

Don't hesitate to ask. There's all sorts of knowledge for pretty much anything you can think to do with your truck on the forum. Just go ahead and shred your credit cards before you start looking around too much.

Perfect example: Big Mike was just trying to see if he could fit 285's without trimming when he joined the forum

    Most.

I dunno... All the prog chats I keep tabs on are saying pretty much the same. Looks like a winter wave followed by anothet wave of winter.

Here's the latest, they're usually pretty accurate -

I was planning on hitting the slopes Monday morning if anyone else wants to go skiing, I'll be in the front yard.

Yeah it supposed to be high of 34 here yesterday, and 31 was the highest.

The weatherman doesn't know, that cricket in the match box froze 2 nights ago.
