    Hi All,
Power steering was not working so after checking the fluid and seeing it was low I topped it off. Now it works intermittently. I’ve read they don’t need to be bled so is a new one in order or am I missing something?

If it ran dry must bleed and might still be good. Our old Camry had a ps leak and when it ran dry would take a while to work again until one day it didn't. Don't let it get that low

Didn’t show up on the dip stick when I checked it.

Op, top off fluid, start the truck turn wheel back and forth and look for leaks. Power steering fluid doesn't evaporate and shouldn't burn off... Sounds like a leak

Check the u joint where the steering shaft inputs into the steering rack. That can bind up in turns and it makes it feel like your power steering is intermittent. Spray it good with some pb blaster.

I’ll give this a try because I just did the bleeding and it didn’t help. Thank you

Glad it worked, try fluid film or woolwax every year on everything rusty. It works wonders... And keep up on those fluids
