picked this one (12 dcsb v6) up in march of pandemic and has been a really good truck
only 83K on it now. Was garage kept most of it's former life. clean in and out.
Came with all the extra's included. About $4k's worth. just installed new Bilstein 5100's
in the back. Saving up for the front's now. and maybe a cat back exhaust. Most awesome
color of any vehicle I've ever owned...

I got it used and it was already on there. When I first got it, it had the wires running across the headlights also. They are attached by a separate set of screws, so I took them off, I think it is a cleaner look. I wish I had more information for you, I will look today to see if I can find any kind of brand name.

I looked in and around and under but I can’t find any brand name. If I was guessing I would guess it’s a Westin, wish I was more help

I see what you mean by the detachable wires. I haven’t seen many tacomas with grille guards before.

Thats a nice truck for a 13. Looks well taken care of. when I purchased mine last year
I was amazed that somebody put so much money into all the extra's the truck had on it
only to trade it in at 80 K miles. Color matched bed cap, full LED lighting inside bed,
Chrome grill, Chrome bull bar, Side steps, Chrome mirror, door handle accents, 20"
vision wheel, brand new Michelin rubber all was included at time of purchase.
Saved me about $4K and all the hassle of adding that stuff. And it looks good.
So far I've added, SB cold air intake, Bilstein rear shocks, Fronts have been purchased
but not installed yet, Amber front fog lights, LED driving lights, Wet Okle neo seat covers,
    Throttle programmer.
Just recently had the entire secondary air system replaced per the factory repair campaign.
Did not cost me a penny. Look into it if unsure yours has never been done. If yours is the 4.0
it is prone to failure. ( I need to work on getting some new photos this one is getting dated )

I wasn't aware of any recall on the secondary air system of the 4.0's. ive got a 2013 TRD OR with around 70k right now. Is this something that the dealership takes care of during routine maitenance? I've heard of the frame recalls being good for a number of years, any idea how long this air system recall/replacement is good for?

Thanks for the links. Reading through those threads it seems to be more common with the '12 and supposedly was corrected with the '13+ although there are a few reports of the issue on '13-'15. Guess i'll keep the info in mind and at least I'll have a good idea of the cause if I start getting a check engine light and going into "limp" mode...

This is not a recall. It is a service repair ( at no charge) because the secondary air system is
prone to failure before the warranty runs out. Mine is a 2012 with 83K and they covered it.
They replaced the air pump and switching valve assembly no charge. That switch assembly is
over $500. And the air pump is another $250 or so. Check engine light on and Track off light on.
Engine will run in limp mode until code is reset.
After repair all has been good no issues.

You can check your vin number or contact Toyota Customer Service For the repair campaign number.
I did the later and they told me it was fully covered under the extended warranty.

The best thing for you to do is be prepared. 80 K is the magic number many say.
They will not touch it unless the CEL is on.... P2440 P2442 codes on Memory.
