Only about 60lbs more that my Flippac. I wouldn’t say it’s that heavy. I do think the pricing on these types of things is getting WAY out of hand.

I like the insulated design, but no reference to weight spec. Also an order placed today, does not enter production until after July 2022. Sounds like they have no plans to investing in production efficiency, or expansion. Pretty risky purchase.

I was thinking the same thing after looking at them a little deeper.

I like the design concept, though uncertain on engineering/specs. Looks like its a 2 person company. Id be waiting for user reports.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Most definitely pros and cons to both. I was in the same boat. It’s tough, now that I own both I can really see the differences.

Have you been having problems with your AluCab canopy camper leaking around the rivets? On the AluCab forms I’ve seen a lot of people talking about leakage with both the camper and the RTT lately. Leaking to the point that their mattress is soaked.

The guy who I bought it from thought it was 500lb. I had a big rtt with rack and when I switched it out I did not notice a difference in driving and how it handles weight with my suspension. no measurements but i could not tell a difference than my old set up.

Picked up this OVRLND camper last month. Nothing but good things to say regarding workmanship, component selection, attention to detail... Spartan at delivery for sure. Am currently insulating and adding solar. 285# dry.

I want to say I was in line for about 6 months. I think they are out about 10 months now. It's a thriving little business. I'll post some build pics in the next week or three. Insulation Done. Wall Paneling done. Solar mostly done. Roof liner still scheming... Guessing in total I'll be adding no more than ~20#s on the basic build out.

Checking back in. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Nothing technically challenging just lots of pieces, bit and cuts. 1 inch poly-iso rigid foam broad in the walls and roof. 1/16th inch plastic wall panel for walls. Fabric adhered to "plastic cardboard" attached with velcro for ceiling panels. 175W flexible Renogy solar panel. Various LED lights.

How did you insulate the fabric fold up portion? I'm just starting to get interested in campers, and one of the uses I want it for is winter camping/skiing. I've been looking around and can't find many options that would work for that. Seems like the Hiatus is insulated, but not sure how its heated. I don't need or even want it to be hot inside, just warm enough to not need to layer and bundle up while cooking and relaxing inside.

So I'll throw out this question for others as well, what are the options available for this?

The “soft” sided options you can put a second inner fabric layer that helps with insulation, but mostly with condensation.

As for all of these options, there is no heater by default.

Some people go with the Dickinson marine propane fireplace for Instagram points, others choose a Propex or webasto heater. Others go with the Alibaba special diesel heater for about $200.

the cheapest is a lil’ or Mr Buddy, but it is a fire hazard as well as puts off condensation inside your camper as a byproduct of burning propane. Also, carbon monoxide.

I have not insulated the vinyl soft sides. I do have a roll of aluminized bubble wrap that I plan to make sides skirts for it, but I've not yet felt the need. I run a Chinese diesel heater, set max low, and it keeps the inside at ~70F with it 20F outside.

4-wheel camper makes insulated cloth curtains for theirs, but it is something like a $750 option.

Have not seen what Hiatus does. Interestingly, Hiatus is like a half mile from my house.
