Steep driveway, don't want to deal with the hassle of safely chocking up a trailer on an incline, not to mention theft-proofing it.

At least, that's what I tell her.:anonymous::anonymous:

    No, thank goodness.

That's one of the very few rules that code enforcement actively patrols for here. Keep your lawn below knee height, and parked wheels must be over poured concrete.

That's the kicker. When I bought this house I made damn sure to find one that's outside an HOA, I didn't want to go through that again. Well apparently the city is more than happy to take up that slack. :bananadead:

But hey, at least I don't get mystery letters complaining about my visible trash cans, so that's a nice relief.

Pour a small slab just big enough for the trailer tires to set on. Might be able to use a couple of 12 x 12 paver stones and a 6 x 6 under the tongue wheel.

    Compliance satisfied.

It should start without a block heater. I've lived in southern Minnesota my whole life and only owned a block heater once in the 80's because the truck came with one. It sounds like you might need a new battery, but your profile says you have a 2017 so I wouldn't expect the battery to be bad yet. For the most part, I've had a garage to park in. Parking outside is the suxor. Sorry, man.

Has to be poured, pavers don't meet code.

And before I pour, it has to be graded, and to grade I need to take down a tree, and there's little to no increase on property values so there's no clawing back any returns on that improvement. I've thought hard about doing it, but it's a no.

If she ever decides to get a non shitbox car we'll probably have to move to accommodate it. :cookiemonster:

Just pour a couple of 12 x 12 squares for the wheels and tongue wheel. Leave the tree. No need to grade. The slope will help rain to run off the camper.

Just dig down about 6 inches, lay and tamp a 2" thick gravel bed, pour 4" thick 12" x 12" squares. Maybe need to use 2 80 lb bags of Quickrete and a little concrete mesh. Easy Saturday project. Bonus.....big 'attaboy' points with the Mrs.

Plus you can tell the city codes to stick it where the sun don't shine.

    Just eggin' you on........:p

I don't see the big deal with leaving a car in the driveway. My boat and motorcycle take up too much space in the garage so my car lives in the driveway. When I had a one car garage my Tacoma lived outside year round, -50* to +95* in the snow and sun and it didn't hurt anything.

My issues with parking outside are:

    1) UV rays aging stuff prematurely
    2) having to scrape the windows
    3) getting into a really cold truck that is really stiff
    4) Snow/ice/salt mixture building up in the wheel wells and not melting (it is sorta of fun to kick though)
    5) Getting into a suffocatingly hot car that burns my butt cheeks

All decent points. My garage is unheated any which kinda sucks for winter working. Autostart, heated seats/steering wheel, and ventilated a/c seats go a long way to making it better.
